Unfortunately, Jaws' video intercept interferes when ZoomText tries to read
something, so having it start after ZoomText allows ZoomText to use the MSAA

Hello, I use Zoomtext for color enhancement and magnification and JAWS for
speech. It works great for me.
If you have Windows 7, Zoomtext has to start before JAWS. So, I have
Zoomtext come on at start up and then I have JAWS in the start menu.
So, after Zoomtext is loaded, I press the windows key
If using jfw and zt one must start before the other, if memory serves me
correctly.
I haven't used both programs in a long time.

I'll have to keep that in mind when I get a windows 7 pc for the house. Right
now the one I'm using is at work and I kind of doubt they will let me install

Hi Jason,
Give Classic Shell a look,
I use it on one of my Windows 7 systems, and also on Windows 8 Consumer
Preview.
Once installed, if you disable it at startup, then the computer will boot
into the default Windows 7 interface,
but you can load the Classic Shell afterwards.
Or, you can have it
This makes perfect sense since even Microsoft will not support Office 2003
anymore. At some point, we have to move forward and keep up with our sighted
peers. If all a person wants to do is be able to view an Office file, get a
free viewer. If you must create Office documents, then buy the small
Hi all,
I'm brand new to windows 7. I've been Using JFW since 3.2 on a windows 98 PC.
I'm looking for advice and tips for various settings to make windows 7 more
user friendly and less verbose. I prefer the classic look as much as possible,
but I'm finding very little in the way of options to m

I am mainly concerned with winword. the later versions of jaws work

work correctly anymore for readingin Winword 2k3.
If I were to go back to a version of jaws that just used scripts with
no api access to read Word, would this

That is what I got from it, but for vista, win7 and up probably will
have support for later versions of office. Its all about being
current with software. When companies move up its mostly a big jump.
So I can see why they won't to move in that way.

So if I understand you correctly future versions of jaws will not support my
office being it's 2003? I suppose I could try extracting the scripts as they
are right now but no promises on success.

Actually, since the scripts were written for jaws 4.5.1 originally,
this is the location that jaws will look in by default. You need to
manually give the path to your script directory. since jaws 4.5.1 did
not differentiate between "personal" and "all user" settings at the
time, I personally pu

FYI, about xp and office2003 users off another list.
Hi,
I got a response from FS and, as I expected, the official word is
they no longer support Office XP or 2003. They know the supplied
scripts don't work properly any more, but they are supplied for those
people who "want" to use them.
So
You must make certain that the script files are correctly located in your
settings\enu folder first of all. I do not believe they will work if they
are not in there as JAWS looks in that location for them and is not set to
search the entire computer.
