one thing to check. did you misalign the flex cable into the connector on
the PCB or the monitor? sounds like you buzzed it out though.

Hi,
Turned the memory power off for one minute and then back on it seem to solve
the power button issue but the screen is still the same.
Also the voltage of the battery when no power from battery’s or DC jack is
around 3.79v.

I had some interesting issues with my T200 which I converted to supercap. (It
does work, but I don't recommend it because you get behaviour like this and
worse while the cap is charging up.)
Have you tried turning the memory power switch off for a minute and back on?

Sounds like the cable for the screen might not be correctly inserted in the
connector. You could revisit the cable and make sure it was not broken or
cracked when the computer was re-assembled. The plastic ribbon cable is a
bit tricky to re-insert.
The black screen (if the boot process is like
Did you double check the polarity of the new battery?
If the CMOS battery was flat on install, it will take some time to charge
up.
It has to be charged or the T200 won't work.

Hi all,
Anyone know anything about Tandy 200 black screen of death? I have changed the
CMOS battery and tried a cold start using CTRL+SHIFT+BREAK+RESET.
When I power it on I hear a click from the speaker and the screen goes black
the contrast knob doesn't dim or darken the screen.

Sounds like a plan, I’m currently doing a first pass getting the routine
headercomments in and translating the none sense opcodes into db and dw’s from
the m100 dis. I’ll set up a github repo once I’m through this first pass. Next
pass will be find and replace on all standard addresses and known
Hi Erik,
I presume you are also referencing the additional M100 ROM annotations I
did by hand which are not part of the VirtualT standard output (and
quite extensive)?

Hi, it would be great to make this collaborative. I have a lot of my own
notes on a disassembly, and I also have a paper disassembly that I acquired
a while back.

Hi,
I’m currently well on my way to merge the annotated M100 rom with a disassemble
of the T102 rom. This will include documentation of the differences. I hope to
create a working .asm file with labels and such that can be reassembled into a
functioning Rom (I’m working my way towards a custom
Jim,
Just yesterday I was thinking how my T102 would make a good PSK31 terminal,
but hearing that I'm not so sure about that idea anymore...

Have you tried disconnecting the beeper in case bus noise is leaking across

Heres a tip. For leaded electrolytic caps I "walk" them out by heating one
lead and leaning the cap to one side such that the loose lead can slide out
a bit. Then I do the same for the other lead, alternating back and forth
until it is fully out.

I have to open it up again, tonight to check on leaking anyway, so I’ll look up
the numbers of those caps. I really need to get myself a decent desoldering
station, it’s currently taking too much time to desolder these buggers.

Hehe, yeah, if it couldn’t be a sign of trouble it would definitely be cool ;).
I remember that other 80’s computers made these kinds of sounds while
processing. I know our Philips P2000T did and later our Amstrad CPC464 as
well…. Cheap analog electronics I guess…
I did double and triple check
