If I remove all the plugins I can actually get
mythfrontend to run,
setup sound, themes etc. Watch Live TV works great.
However, reinstalling any of the plugins still give me
the same seg
fault so functionality is still limited.

I think I got it fixed, I rolled back one version of firmware (one
version back from what the ivtv wiki recommends) and now it seems to
be working stably, I watched 4 hours of TV with out any issues so
far... so maybe it was just the card not likeing the firmware I
provided...

When viewing TV, and hit P, the image pauses but not the
sound. When recording, sound does not get recorded.

Problem solved. It turns out that I didn't transfer my DisplaySize
setting to the new Monitor section in my xorg.conf. After doing that
it appears to be working very well.

to the Section "Monitor" for the component video monitor,
