My method is simply to expand the orginal image to so that a pixel in
the image will be a dot on the output. Using the example I posted
before, the image was 3.5 inches wide, the printer was 600 dots per

I need to adjust the horizontal position of the dot under the slanted
char. I would assume the third parameter would control it but nothing
seems to work.
Of course LM does not look so bad but I'm using a different font so this
is just an illustration.

I would advise (strongly) against using ASCII transliteration; this is
essentially a leftover from the 1980s, which should have died with the
floppy disk and the dot matrix

i found a few bugs in the new structure code for mkiv.
1. the dot after numbered items is missing

2. indices in headers work not in interactive mode

Euler, without problems. But when I switch to XeConTeXt (to use my
system's fonts), some Euler's math accents do not show up properly
(\hat) or not at all (\acute, \grave, \bar, \breve, \dot, \ddot, \tilde,
\check).
