Thanks, Bruce.
I will take a look at the color again. this was taken outdoors, in an area
surrounded by 2 story retail structures, about sunset. There were some
colored lights of various hues in the vicinity.

I like it, Dan. :)
I do feel it has a too strong orange cast.

Thanks, John and Ann.
Hula shows can be very Disneyesque, depending who is doing it and why.
Traditional Hawaiian hula is quite different from what one sees at Tourist
Luaus. Those feature a lot of Tahitian, Maori and Tongan dancing, because
those are more dramatic and energetic than serious

It is a lovely day to be outside right now. It was supposed to start snowing
a few hours ago, but it is still warm out.
Nice catch! Like the rooster's apparent stalking of the girls.

That's the version I like. My comments about excessive contrast and
burned highlights were in reference to someone's remake of this image.
Love this one.

This is out of context. I was commenting on a modification to a picture

I commented on was inferior. I have no problem with specular
highlights. If you've seen my backlit wakeboarding pics, you would

Hi Bruce ... pretty well done. Love the catchlights in Amber's eyes. Pose
is pretty nice - relaxed, informal ...my first reaction is that it was just
about a perfect setup, but when I looked on my monitor in PS it seemed that
a little tweak with levels, color, or contrast could help out a bit,
Hello Shel,
Based on your recommendation, I went back and punched it up just a
bit. I think it does look just a bit better, although it has a slight
effect on the skin tones. I'm suspecting my monitor is just a shade
more contrasty than yours.
Anyway, here's the changed image:
Better, IMO - here's what looks pretty good on my screen:

either of our results is clearly better, just somewhat different
interpretations, and with the differences in monitors,

I prefer the original. On my monitor, the bright area on her forehead

Bruce,
Lighting, ideal. Soft, detailed and clean.
I think the depth concentrates the focus precisely as
it should.
