Odd, my experience is exactly the opposite. Connected to MySB.com my
ShoutCast Genres and Most Popular are working fine. But for me Random
100 and By Bitrate are NOT working. :(

Tested on 2 different Touches on two different networks at two
different locations.
The userdata number changes though.

Is anybody else having this problem? When I click on Shoutcast and click
on genres it says Shoutcast error. This started happening 2 days ago. I
tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but no such luck. No
problems on my wifi either.

bitrate limit is set at 128k.
But some of the menu items do give the userdata error. But the 320k
bitrate selection is working now. :)

That's it, switched from no filter to a filter and I get a
OK some good news. We've worked this out and have access to the new
API. I expect to get Shoutcast back up and running later today.
It also seems we *were* contacted about this change a long time ago,
but our ex-bizdev guy must have forgot to tell anyone about it. :(

Improvements:
Genres menu now has sub-genres.
A By Bitrate menu where you can easily see stations of a certain
bitrate.

Ok, yup, playing fine.
Bitrate filter is now two fold:
- original, set a minimum bitrate, search/genre results only display
the set bitrate or higher
- new, choose a particular bitrate only

Andy, there is a Home Menu loop using ShoutCast By Bitrate 320 (or
any bitrate)
EDIT: Sorry, takes you back to My Apps, not Home Menu
result is userdata:0x6779c0 with an arrow to the right. If I select
this it takes me to My Apps on the Touch.

Yeah, random here as well across all Bitrates except 128k. Sometimes I
am offered results, sometimes the error.
Any chance my bitrate limit set to 128k is confusing
OK I think the bitrate menu issue is a bug in their advanced search API.
Will implement a workaround.

I have no experience with IceCast but it looks like IceCast has a lot
fewer offerings than does ShoutCast. IceCast lists 7,900 streams
whereas ShoutCast claims 44,000 streams.
Anyone know what the difference in offerings are? Maybe IceCast has no
duplicates?

I want to address the Logitec issue directly. Logitec was alerted of
the impending change to the SHOUTcast API as far back as late 2009 and
early 2010. After discussions with them, Logitec chose to not move
ahead with the API migration.
As far as I know, we were not contacted about the new API. But blaming
each other is counter-productive, so we are working on it.

IMO both parties are at fault.
Logitech was getting away without being an official ShoutCast partner
for many years. Kind of like getting cable TV ch's you are not paying
for.
The right thing to do is call the provider and tell them of their

So this is why shoutcast no longer works. Just great. I'm not blaming
Squeezebox at all here.
Once upon a time shoutcast was a beacon of freedom on the net. Now, I
go there and I can't even get an external player to come up..I just get
a crappy flash player. This is not acceptable.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem. I appeared to solve it by
reinstalling the last software update but now today shoutcast gives the
same 'unaabale to parse date' error message. The squeezebox server web
interface gives the same result.

My shoutcast is evidently on the blink as well. Even a shoutcast
favorite I have is not working, although its an old favorite so perhaps
its URL has changed
I checked this evening and Shoutcast is now working now. Let's see how
long it lasts though.
