I don't think it was for sale... Like this Foundry move, is to buy a
technology, not just Mischief itself.
As for how good is mischief now, I say there's quite a bit of stuff
lacking. Free-hand straight lines, filleds shapes, Paste an image from the
clipboard, common stuff nothing ground breaking.
Too bad BlackMagic or The Foundry didn't buy Softimage...

Will definitely give Mischief a try, the interface looks very neat.

Hey Cristobal, I completely agree with any studio being able to afford
it. Im just stating that they messed up a bit with the networking license
, its a bit stupid relining on users to be chivalrous... . Its duped
from a tech perspective. Never the less. Fusion is a masterpiece of
software an

Sure, but Mischief competes with the likes of Sketchbook Pro and other
drawing software.
Fusion competes (or tries to) with Nuke, check the pricing and maintenance:

Hey Cristobal,
Mischief full version is only $25 -- that's so cheap it's almost free.

Ognjen, surely a small studio or freelancer can afford a 1000us license for
commercial work? A bargain mate ;)
At least people can learn it without watermarks and restriction, and
upgrade when you really need those lens flares!!
Also Blackmagic offer Davinci Resolve a grading and editing software
Have actually used it, this evening, it's actually really good, and
definitely a paradigm shift, not having to worry about resolution, it's
just really nice and very clean.

Fusion was always a rocker. The free node doesnt support network rendering
but i cant get my head around that... Deadline starts a new instance
locally ...So it kind of circumvents their licensing ... Still im not a
composting artist but my colleague seas that its all useless without the
support fo
Meh.
Much more refreshing is seeing how Blackmagic is now giving Fusion for
free, and offering a $1000us pro version without any maintance cost on top.
Very interesting,
but I'm still a little lost in what it can do
is it like zbrush's pixols?
