I just installed the touch via digital coax to my nad 747 and i had to
crank the volume knob higher than other audio media sources I have have
integrated in my system. Is it the Touch or could it be something else?
Thanks for any ideas.

Try factory resetting it. I have never managed to get a radio/touch to
work without doing so after the first try.

The daily on/off power jolts could cost you far more (by reducing the

Got mine at 3 this afternoon. Since then I have been battling with
'Connecting to mysqueezebox.com' which displays itself after the
network connection has been made.
I have tried everything to get through this initial startup phase. I'm
connected wired. Diagnostics show all ports open and ping OK.

Yes but it shoul be a scan for changes, not a total rescan, but I would
set the timer well
Thanks all, usually have mine on a timer to switch off nightly, assume
that it switches on in the morning will it have to rescan the drive
plugged in to it with my music on.

I'm awaiting a Touch as well, so I can retire one of our Classics as a
backup to the others.
My understanding is the Touch PSU draw is the same as a Classic (5v/2a)
unless USB is being used. In the latter case the Touch requires its 3a
supply.
So, I'd go with 10 watts max, excluding USB loads.
So if I read correctly I think you want to authenticate the squeezebox
touch through your company's proxy server to get access to
mysqueezebox.com. I am not sure if there is anywhere to put in proxy
settings on a Squeezebox. I will have a look when I get home tonight.

The SB Touch is a good match for audiophiles as well. Just use a good
external DAC and it can compete with the high end systems at a
significant lower cost.
The user experience of the Squeezebox system is one of the best out
there. Once you used it there is no good alternative available.

I don't think so. These units are more geared for the audiophile wanting
a component style piece in their system.

Although I do love the transporter and continue to use it in my main
system. I'd say the touch (as a transport) is almost as good but a lot
cheaper. In terms of component
Currys also had this offer over the weekend but the Touch is now off
their website too! Has anyone who ordered from PC World or Currys
received theirs yet or even confirmation of delivery??
