Hey Tyson,
Could you submit these units for RMA and send me a quick note (
ja...@ubnt.com) once you have done so?

I had 2 go out in a storm last Friday. Was actually a weird scenario because
both poe units blinked indicating a short i think. Either way swapped out the
prisms and working again. I as well had them up less than a month and none of
the other AC or Motorola equipment on tower affected
Dish diameter is 811mm, its around 2 1/2 foot.

Does anyone have a AF-1135G in stock and could measure the actual diameter?
Spec sheet says 31.9 inches, whereas other 2’ dishes i.e. Jirous are 25.5 to
27.7 inches.
31.9” seems large, just checking this is not the shipping carton size…
Thanks
Right, of course. I was thinking of Ethernet routers.

I'm not sure that's accurate for a wireless router, which is intending to
transmit. Consumer routers are almost exclusively wireless routers.

Routers only have to comply with Part 15 Subpart B (Unintentional
Radiators).

Of course I also saw a ruling saying router vendors couldn't block open source
firmware like DD-WRT, so I'm not sure how the conflict resolves.

I do remember seeing something about this in the last round of 5 GHz concerns.

Can you clarify what regulatory requirement states that you have to prevent
other software from running on your hardware?

Hello,
Thank you for the UBNT direct response. Your email was a huge
contradiction, it says it's not motivated by lawyers then goes on to say
it's a "Regulatory requirement" (lawyers). You say it's not to prevent
putting specific software (Cambium or otherwise) on your device" then in

You can, it's just through a series of steps.

Do we know for sure it's a legal brick? Why would a vendor break

Someone on the forums stated that it doesn't require a TFTP. They said you can
load 6.0.6 beta to the radio, and then it can be downgraded remotely. Worth a

Let me be very clear - this has nothing to do with preventing you from
putting specific software (Cambium or otherwise) on your device, nor is it
driven by lawyers in any way. Radios are also not bricked, nor are they
sabotaged at all. No one is forced to upgrade and there is no modification
