This can be closed as I have solved the problem by making a new firefox profile, importing bookmark backup and avoiding the installation of google toolbar. I am not certain but I think this add-on must change the location of the bookmarks in some way. -- You received this bug notification

I've looked there. I've tried a few things. Deleted the sqlit bookmark database, disabled all add ons. Re-install firefox through Ubuntu synaptic repository. I then restored back up copy of bookmarks and get bookmarks accessible from bookmarks toolbar but when I try to Show All Bookmarks the

I repeated the same procedure i.e. rebooted and waited approx 30 mins before login to ubuntuone but this time there was no problem. The only difference I can think of is sbackup does an automated incremental backup soon after ubuntu is booted and this would have been before the login to ubuntuone
