Deactivating it in the audio preferences makes GNOME start normally.

In general use on the desktop it has been fine (I even had compiz running).
However, I had left euphoria screensaver running overnight and I've come back
to it twice now humg; this time I ssh'd in and found it was a hung X server;

i just did
sudo modprobe tifm_sd
and the sd card loaded and works perfectly
I could ask for other cards, i would ask for it, could you tell me what
i should to write?

which failed when updating gnome-pilot.
Update-manager gives a message to check with apt-get what's wrong
Typing: $ sudo apt-get check
