Okay, I have removed my .fonts.conf and issued
fontconfig-voodoo -f -s zh_CN
instaed to activate Chinese fonts (this sets a symlink from
/etc/fonts/language-selector.conf to
/usr/share/language-selector/fontconfig/zh_CN). Still, the result is nearly the

did not find a way to edit my own comment.

The solution here is not gdb, since beagle runs inside of a managed
system called mono, could you just run beagle-search from the command
line, and observe the crash. Then could you also attach the relivent

Binary package hint: 915resolution
In Edgy, the command 915resolution -l correctly listed the
1400*1050, 32bpp mode of my laptop, so I could use that resolution
without problems.
What happens:
In Feisty, the 1400*1050, 32bpp mode is not listed at all, so I have to
work

Without effects is everything fine. Now all workspaces are custom names. But
with 3d effects - after login out/in - all custom names are gone - back Desk1,
Desk2 etc
Right now I am installing new updates - I give after that here also information
- is something changed or not.

beryl-xgl was removed from the package at the request of the MOTU...
I'll see if I can get it reinstated for a future release (as I
understand it, the problem was that it statically links against it's own
version of Mesa - linking against the version of mesa provided in
Ubuntu could be a workable

Oops, I missed your reply Timo :-P
Just wanted to say thank you so much! I can finally hook up my laptop to
a projector in college now! They only work with 1024x768, and now that
resolution works perfectly for me. Thanks! It's nice to be able to do
all my presentations on ubuntu now :-)
