I easily got my Authentec working with the hardy backported libpam-
fprint, but making it supported and accounted for by Ubuntu itself would
be a great feature for Intrepid.
What I would like to see is a user-friendly enrollment application which
modifies the pam-configuration upon completion.

I haven't experienced this issue with Intrepid, but since it's randomly

I killed the /usr/sbin/locale-gen script that invoked the localedef
command and this caused the upgrade to continue but with some Coud not
install package blabla dependency problem - leaving unconfigured
messages.
I had to kill this script about 3 more times. The upgrade continued to

I had bug 254939 before, but switching with ctrl+alt+F1 and sudo apt-get
update/upgrade fixed that issue. I now have this different problem.
My earlier issue with the keys other than the up arrow have currently
disappeared (during this session, without updating), but Ins and Del are
still dead.
NoOP, any idea what happens if you do this between step 1 and 2:

Interesting tidbit, I could not update the kernel using my ATI 8500 video card.
Not enough uptime. Change to my Rage 128 and viola!
Have you tried in Intrepid or with a compiled new version? The fix is

the thing is, that I've already tried setting those timeouts. And there
was no result at all. The lookup time didn't change.
Wouldn't it be a lot more intelligent in libnss-ldap to do a *one-time*
check if the LDAP server is reachable, and if not there's just no
output. Just something simple
I see the same problem on my desktop PC which also has an Asus
motherboard with built-in wifi.
The connection works fine when I am browsing the net or printing from
another PC (the desktop is a print server) but as soon as I start
streaming music from another device on the network the wireless
is this still a problem? do you know what driver you use? if yes, mark
that package as affected as it greatly increases the attention of the
devs.

Tried to install WIN XP sp2 as a VM using QEMULATOR. During attempt to
RUN that VM, terminal opened and stopped at FATAL etc. Terminal hung,
