Somthing along the process of of setting up all of my photography
applications seems to have at least alleviated this problem. I just
queried repeatedly a canon CR2 raw properties and the Nautilus did not
hang. There may be a work around available. I did following things that
directly have affected

segfault at 18 ip 004cf79e sp 7fffe9bc7a90 error 4 in
nautilus[40+1b6000]
system is Lucid 10.04 emachines laptop with internal card reader. SD
card is 32 GB.
Copy process is interrupted due to crash / restarting of the Nautilus.
Public bug reported:
Right click on the file and select properties. Nautilus may hang. System
monitor reports that the process is waiting for "futex_wait_queue_me".
Hang is not reproducible every time and situation can be resolved by
killing the waiting Nautilus process. Ubuntu 10.04, Lucid, amd64

Latest Lucid kernel upgrade 2.6.32-33-generic fixed the issue at least
for me and now the touch pad tab is visible in the System -> Preferences
-> Mouse.

I booted using Natty live USB and it booted succesfully to Unity
interface with out proprietary drivers. It is quite possible that this
issue was caused by the previously installed ATI driver which is not
willing to leave the system.

I have the exact same problem except I have HP550 laptop with intel audio.
So far everything else in Gcompris has worked fine. If this is audio driver
related
problem, then why the problem manifests it self in one particular game of the
