I have this issue too.

The odd thing, is that I believe update manager already tries

I won't call this bug fixed until there is some kind of notification that fsck
is working on a disk.
Most of my stuff is on a different partition, and not being able to reach it
without knowing why is really frustrating.

Oddly, the problem fixed itself..
After a week with the problem, It's suddenly fixed!
the only changes I did to the system, are to install the read-edid and

After using them a couple of times, xrandr -q suddenly reported the correct

Removed the packages, and xrandr stil produces the correct modes.
I find the hardware explanation odd, as the screen did work good, and I moved
the cable around a couple of times during the week with no viewable outcomes,
but it's possible.
Thanks for your support,

EDID fail, intel
That's a good point.
You have to restart, and get to the GRUB menu (mostly done by hitting ESC
during boot)
Then you choose the entry that has (Recovery) on it.
When asked what you wish to do, choose get Root shell or something like that.

Evince does not open pdf files if they do not have a 'pdf' extension
Public bug reported:
Evince stopped opening pdf files if they have a different extension.
If I rename the file to .pdf, it opens it correctly. (I receive all my

It used to work, but it suddenly stopped. When I open the file, it complains

But it was a different package (evince-gtk) so it's not a dupe.
