I have tried to downgrade the driver to maverick version. This did not solve the problem. My new suspicion is that this is a compiz bug. also reflected here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/723002. I will try to disable compiz and see what happens. Will report back later. **

I installed a kernel from Oneiric on my Natty system, and the s-video is working as well. the installed kernel: 3.0-2-generic I think this completely proves that the problem is in the Natty kernel and not in xserver-xorg-video-intel package. Please change the package that this bug is filed
