RE: (313) Jeff Mills:thanks giving
= Original Message From john sokolowski [EMAIL PROTECTED] = if jeff declined playing in baltimore to stay home that weekend, then why would he be in detroit? detroit is mills' home. magazines and flyers usually read: jeff mills axis detroit. there is no escaping detroit. cheers. yes, i'm aware of that, but as far as i know, he actually resides part-time in chicago and part-time in berlin. perhaps his family still resides in detroit and that's what he meant by staying home for thanksgiving. let's hope so, i'd love to see him play. israel .
Re: (313) Jeff Mills:thanks giving
detroit is mills' home. magazines and flyers usually read: jeff mills axis detroit. Which is strange, considering axis records say Chicago. I hope this thanksgiving thing goes off, but the shelter!!? When was the last time Mills actually played in Detroit? I've heard Mills prefers the intimate non rave type of events, but when THE Detroit dj actually plays Detroit for the first time in over three years (correct me if I'm wrong), you would think it would be in a venue of some size. If it does happen I guess I'll have to ingest all of my pbr before midnight, so I don't have to violate the sanctity of Buy Nothing Day. Christopher
Re: (313) Jeff Mills:thanks giving
I believe Jeff's mom lives in the D, so maybe that is why he would go home. Doesn't he live in Kensington, UK, part time too? And his girlfriend is from Japan. So that makes Jeff a full-time futurist space and time traveller or sumthin'. If in fact Jeff likes non-rave events I wish he would play them more down in these parts. Or at least do a rave then a intimate club date later, which is the pattern for a few DJs, eg Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes in Melbourne. (313) Re:Mills has crash pads in Chicago and Berlin :)
hi, chris. i wrote *residence* as in a place to live, not *residency* as in a regular DJ gig :) Mills has places to live in in Chicago and Berlin. (313) more Terrence Parker :)
OK, with Terrence Parker coming to play Halifax this Saturday, Cognition (with me being based out of Halifax and all :)) is sorta the online connection for Halifax and area residents for some doses of TP this week: If ya'll would like to check out my online Terrence Parker special, right now I've got a 70 minute TP DJ mix, new and classic tracks from TP, an older RA interview, and a new text interview (hoping to get this new interview up in RA too later today or this week). (313) DJ Rap at Motor tonight
I'm not sure what 313 relevance this has at all, but my coworkers here want to know if DJ Rap is spinning inside or outside of the booth at motor tonight. LOL. Anyone got the skinny? Dale --ducking from objects being thrown at him--

(313) Terrence Parker super special on Cognition :)
Detroit's Terrence Parker is playing here in Halifax this Saturday and Cognition is the official URL for his visit :) due to popular demand, I've just put up the 9/9/99 interview with Terrence Parker in full in RA (almost an hour of TP speaking from the heart). While the text feature written up from this interview gets into a couple of things, this RA interview gets into plenty: inspired by the Latin Rascals to get into tape editing in 1979, breakdancing on the circuit and getting into DJing in 1981, playing his first parties in 1982, The Question blowing up in 1993, playing out in Germany almost every weekend, the German music scene, house and techno, why he DJs the way he does, his feeling on drugs in our scene, and plenty more. In total the Terrence Parker special on Cognition (http://techno.ca/cognition) now includes: --1 text feature (525 w :)) --2 RA features (the interview from show 580 and the recent interview done 9/9/99) --1 TP DJ mix (70 minutes of turntable madness!) --plenty of new and classic Parker material on show 580 if you're interested in checking this out, please do so asap as I can't keep up all that RA for more than a week. Thanks. Andrew Duke :) -- Cognition/Andrew Duke's In The Mix mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://techno.ca/cognition 1096 Queen St #123 Halifax NS Canada B3H 2R9
(313) Hurricane Floyd @ CMJ
Sorry for the unrelated 313 material, if you aren't on the East Coast delete The National Weather Service has put the entire Tri-State area (NY,NJ,Penn) under a Tropical Storm _Watch_ as of about 3:00 today. Hurrican Floyd is expected to hit the NYC Long Island/NJ/Penn area sometime tomorrow lasting till about Friday evening. Heavy rains and winds ranging from 55-75 miles per hour are expected. The reason I post this, is I myself hardly listen to the radio-and I am aware that some list member are presently at CMJ, possibly not listening to the radio, too busy to watch TV and just checking Email through laptops. POINT: wear your raingear put your golf clubs in the air real high. back to the music: Diana NP:mind numbing commerical radio, which is just sometimes necessary. __ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

now, now silly boys... inside the booth, but remember that since i cut the booth level down last october the ummm, view, is less obstructed. and... we were toying with the crotch-cam but decided that we should judge her on her merits, rather than her assets. now, having said that... take a number, boys (and girls) cuz there's a line a mile long... linda holding #1 g - Original Message - From: Dale Lawrence [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Wednesday, September 15, 1999 10:59 AM Subject: (313) DJ Rap at Motor tonight I'm not sure what 313 relevance this has at all, but my coworkers here want to know if DJ Rap is spinning inside or outside of the booth at motor tonight.
