I know that Mike and Chuck D have met on occasion, so they're aware of each

wouldn't mind a UR/PE collaboration... :)

(313) MP3 spammage

2002-10-16 Thread Brendan Nelson
I've got a new track called Surface Tension up on mp3.com - it's a
pleasant Detroit-style techno track with a mellow atmosphere (it also has
drum noises, chords, synthesisers, and those sorts of things) and so far
it's doing OK in the mp3.com charts.

It'd be great to get some feedback from people on the list, so if anyone
fancies a free mp3 to download, the page is at:

http://www.mp3.com/trackghost

By the way, are there any better places for mp3 hosting than mp3.com? You
get the idea that you're very much a second class citizen there unless
you're on the premium artist scheme... what is ampcast like?

Why thankyou Jonny. Glad you enjoyed it so much, and we likewise enjoyed
your company once again.
A truly fantastic night was had by all, whether for Jonny's set or seeing a
huge visual on the wall of Jean-Claude Van Damme's dance routine in
'Kickboxer' movie.
I knew it was going to be good as Jonny opened up with Larry Heard - Music
Takes Me Up.
I am still intrigued, as I know you are Jonny, to find out the origin of one
punter's claim that you had played UR's Seawolf at 33rpm. Answers on a
postcard.

Anybody who is willing to venture next time then I will see you on:

Friday November 8th

Just a quickie to file my report on Scott McGill T-Funkshun's new
Liverpool night. These guys are really doing their bit to represent
quality
music in Liverpool, and they're a great bunch - I had a great time on
Friday
night. They are also doing their bit to support the local licensed
trade:
I left three of them at 2pm the following day, still in the pub, with a
large queue of Sambucas lined up. I bow down... ;) The next couple of
nights
with Baby Ford and then Luke Solomon will be great, never mind Valentine's
Day. I also bumped into an old school friend, Jamie Ball, whose Turning
Point records are as bonkers and scary as I'd expect. Check out Mark
Forshaw's Revolution - with a healthy dose of Rob Hood influence.

Personally, I like Kontakt as a VST plugin and as a standalone sampler,
although I normally use Emagic's EXSP for sample playback in Cubase. Using

You have the Kooky Scientist and Christian Smith at the venue formally known
as Motor on the 26th of this month. The Necto in Ann Arbor has also been
bringing in some quality techno acts.
