  ##Movement Festival after-parties and off-site events.

Does anyone know what this means? Are they putting a
sanctioned stamp of of approval on just certain afterparties? How
does one go about becoming sanctioned?

  Confused in Detroit...

No, Remco means something else!

It is the track that Laurent Garnier played at the I Love Techno festival
in ´99 just before rhythm plate - prospect drive.
After that track he plats good life (carl craig mix) and the b-side of
work it from blake baxter and trevor rockliffe on sok records. Then he
played Ignacio - Virton, if I remember correctly.. followed by kiko -
world cup and d-shake - techno trance
That´s all I remember ;)

This is actually the best LG set that I ever heard!

The original is quite electro, which I like, whereas the 2 remixes are
a lot more dance-floor orientated, more Techno if you like. I prefer
the (long) Genotype remix, it's rougher, darker than the Human Code
remix. That's not bad either but a tad too slick I find. But that's
just me.

I never knew of that Synthetic release, dammit. ; )

Re: (313) house recommendations?

2003-05-16 Thread David Powers
Hi listmembers,

I'm also looking for more house. However, I have some very specific tastes as
far as house, and it seems to be rather hard to find house records that work
for me.

Basically, I am looking for house that is more synthetic rather than organic
sounding, mostly non-vocal, stuff that can work on the dance floor, and not too
smooth-jazz or disco sounding. Examples of stuff I might play in a house tempo
sets currently tend to include some minimal stuff, sometimes thx (Dale Lawrence
stuff) some of the Perlon and Akufen stuff, an old dbx track here or there,
certain UR house tempo tracks, some synthy stuff like the Heiko Laux Walkout
ep I got last year, sometimes a Kevin Saunderson track from Faces and Phases,
sometimes some electro-type stuff that is at the right tempo, and some tribal
house usually that has a synthetic edge. Anybody got any ideas? Stuff like
John Acquviva plays is often cool, or micro-house that isn't too abstract, to
deeper stuff but with real sick analog synthesizer type things and not too
downtempo. Artists and eps, and not just labels please!

TRACK ID:
btw, what is the 2nd (?) record I remember Carl Craig mixed records on the 2nd
half of Gilles show, after interviewing about Detroit Experiment. The track
had a really tribally thing going with vocals, for quite a while, and then
finally a deep analog sound kick comes under it, no bass I think, and then, the
part I'm really interested in, this great kinda fast analog synth line comes in
with almost tech-y sounding high cymbal stuff in the background. I wasn't
quite sure if this was 2 records or just one? I'd really like to find this
track anyway, especially want that synth line.
