They had the stage set up so as soon as people came off the entry ramp and turned right, they faced it. It seems like there's a little less bounce on the sound down on the floor when it's positioned like that. (still horrible, nonetheless - although Deepchord sounded good down there!0 jeff

I sorta remember seeing him scheduled but I never heard his set, despite going to the area several times. Then again, the sound quality is so murky in the underground area, I might not have realized it was him playing. I hope the Paxahau group do something about the sound in that area. Its a waste of good talent to have DJs spin there. I've never been inspired to linger in that area, even for DJs I've gone there to see, because the sound quality is so awful. {}0+>| theREALmxyzptlk wrote: darnistle wrote: Did Akufen actually play the festival? When you buy according to the latest magazines and fads that feature the latest $3000 a month publicist backed artists dont feel bad when people dont buy the s### cause it doesnt work on the dancefloor!! They've consistently had 4 stages sometimes 5 throughout the years, same hours too.. simple math would tell you thats not humanly possible..." except that simple math shows that it is indeed very possible to have more performers by just shortening the length of each set. and since the published set information is not really reliable, it may be impossible to actually guage whether or not the set lengths are shorter, but it seems to me over the past 2 years especially there have been a lot more 1 hour sets than there were in years past. tom

OK... I'm sorry, but I practically choked on my morning coffee when I read this... Frank, I had such higher opinions of you than this!! You think the overall number of performers increased? They've consistently had 4 stages sometimes 5 throughout the years, same hours too.. simple math would tell you thats not humanly possible... that's Ok that you might've miscalculated that, forgivable... but here's where I choked on my coffee... you think there's a finite number of DJs and producers in Detroit?!! WHAT??!! Do some research, go back to school, learn about not just the history of where it began, but also where it has evolved to, because your comment is dead wrong. This city has more amazing DJs, Producers, and live musicians laying beats on techno tracks than I could ever book if I was producing a 5 day festival with 4 stages, making every stage Detroit only. Agreed - there is no shortage of Detroit artists available. Barring that, there is certainly no shortage of artists directly linked to Detroit and the surrounding areas (artists on Planet E, from Windsor, Ann Arbor, etc) m50

Anyone know how many copies of this "special" blue edition were put in circulation? http://www.discogs.com/release/1206292 Luckily I have a copy of black and blue, because I bought all the colored Deepchord releases when they came out in 2001 and now I am scared to play them because I didn't buy any black ones. Anyway...just wondering how many colored copies there are out there. Jeff Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your home page. http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

Dan... thanks for the input... since you won't be arriving until the Saturday, does that mean you'll be staying for a few days after the festival finishes? You doing any interviews while your here? Tom... I'll keep you posted, as soon as I know confirmation of the groups, I'll let you know. You know, I can't help but feel a bit of a happyness hearing you say no matter what I have on it sounds interesting... I know how picky (and knowledgeable) you are with your music, and if you think it sounds interesting without even hearing who's playing... well, anyways, it just makes me feel happy for now... I have a press date of April 25th. so I'll let you know by then whats going to be booked. Let me know when you'll be in Detroit and what you've got planned already.I know I personally really want to hit up the Soul Skate this year.
