Im sure your time would be much better spent on a forum discussing the
benefits of marxism and why it is the only way forward for all and if
anyone disagrees they are a racist and should be silenced,

Agree.
Everything from her is politically motivated and so so predictable.
Would be good if the discussion was about Detroit music but everything has
a motive and its just oh so fucking boring and played out.
A perfect example of the minority screaming loudest.
Back in the 90s when i started partying and listening to Detroit
Techno/House/etc the one thing outside of the great music that was evident
was that the dance floor was for everyone to be equals. The scene in Sydney
was a heavily Gay scene and it was awesome. No one cared. No one focused on
sex, politics, or race. Its a shame that this divisive mindset has infected
the dance scene today and turned it into something it was never meant to be.

Any reports on Mills, May & Melbourne Symphony

2016-01-31 Thread edward thompson
Hi guys,
Yeah i flew down to the Melbourne gig with Mills and May…. It rocked. Up in my
top 5 gigs of all time.
Mills was solid and he controlled the Orchestra.
With May the Orchestra was more just playing his track. So it didn’t seem as if
he has the same control as Mills did. Either way Mays section was REALLY good….
All his stuff worked really well. Icon was killer…. In fact i won’t start
listing tracks as they all worked. He had 2 opera singers chiming in on a few
tracks and it worked really well.
Crows was into it and up and dancing for the majority.
Sound wasn’t too loud but was solid.
Amazon, Icon and the strings of the strings of life were probably my highlights.
The Bells seemed a little dull in comparison to last time i heard it with Mills
in Melbourne a few years back.
Anyway - yeah…. Top 5 for me
:)

 Hi guys,
Ive been using Vestax mixers for close to 18 years now. As everyone knows
they have been discontinued. The last 7 years I’ve had a Vestax PMC580 Pro. I
love it. Great mixer.Prior to that i had the Vestax PMC500.
Its at the stage now where i need to replace the crossfader… I cannot find
anywhere online that sells vestax faders for the 580. Does anyone have any
ideas?? Can i buy “any” crossfader and install it? (as long as dimensions
 match)
Also - The inevitable is going to happen soon and I’m going to need to buy a
new mixer… To me they all feel cheap (Rane, Pioneer etc). A friend always had
Pioneer mixers and they always felt cheap and plasticy and sure enough after
a few years they’d basically fall apart. The only mixer that looks worthy is
the new Rane 2015. But its a fucking rotary!!! wtf… I understand some people
like Rotary Mixers but not me. The just bore me. I need 3 channels minimum
and a crossfader. So does anyone have any ideas? If this Rane 2015 had a
crossfader id buy it but as it doesnt…

I tried to start a label beginning about 15 years ago. I probably would have
kept releasing vinyl, but 9/11 happened which seemed to suck the life out of
the dance vinyl world, I lost my job and didn't have $1500 to press records,
and after that, well, the whole world changed.

But weirdly, I've been selling this record again in Europe through Discogs,
so hey maybe it's time has finally arrived.

I miraculously still had the digital masters on a backup disk, mastered them
digitally, and uploaded them to BandCamp. As far as I can detect, no one
ever digitized and uploaded them before; whether that means I slipped it into
the marketplace just before digital music really caught on, or maybe DJs
thought it qualified as a secret weapon to hoard, I dunno.

Radio UR……
Far from sold on this so far…..
Some mixes have been great but some mixes have been very average. Atleast 2 i
can remember sounded like they were mixed by guys who had only had decks for a
few years. Basically poor mixing.
When i think of UR mixes i think of the highest standard of DJing possible….ie,
DJ Rolando Aztec Mystic, DJ Rolando Vibrations, DJ Dex Invisible Showcases, DJ
Skurge Radio UR, Suburban knight nocturbulus behaviour UR mix, S2, Buzz G, DJ
3000, Stingray, Mark Flash, etc etc
The 2 most recent mixes that are UR standard for me-
DJ Skurge UR Electro Mix 2013
https://soundcloud.com/ed612313/dj-skurge-ur-electro-mix-2013

DJ Nomadico (DJ Dex) (UR) - Hard, Dark Strong Mix
https://soundcloud.com/ed612313/dj-nomadico-dj-dex-ur-hard

I really enjoyed Ray 7's Radio UR Midtown 1 Mix
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmG6mW46pfclist=LLO5TRdcyssGNnmctaBqw-rwindex=2)
 but then found 2
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7orIH8SurfElist=LLO5TRdcyssGNnmctaBqw-rwindex=1)
virtually a waste of time due to the POOR sound quality...

I don't know….Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy….

Re: (313) DJ Marvin - UR?

2013-09-07 Thread edward thompson
Haha.
Im here with a mate and he said the EXACT same thing…….
That along with the fact he is an average DJ and no where near UR standard….
My afternoon atm is sitting on the deck with 4 brand new UR mixes lined up
fresh from Submerge.
Started with John Collins, then i have Nomadico, Mark Flash, and Skurge lined
up :)
Just wondered.
He is poisoning the name…. :)

Can we just say no and then say it's Juan's Nephew under an assumed name?
 Oh...stop...I'm kidding.

If he's from the UK and was entering into Muzik magazine competitions
starting in 1999...I am going to say-NOPE.

But I could be wrong as all heck.

(313) Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus remix

2013-06-10 Thread edward thompson
Hi guys,
I went to 2 parties today (David Morales during the day and Jamie 3:26 at night
and at both gigs Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus remix was played. An absolute
dance floor killer of a track. Must be relatively new.
Does anyone know what the remix is and who did it?
Id say all the big boys would be playing it atm.
Peace
Ed

 Hi there!
Just played the original version last night. Love it. Been lucky enough to
