Re: [313] Concert last night: ADULT.
I was there. The only thing that stood out to me, is before ADULT. played hand to phone Nicola said something like this is an old one from awhile back, a few of you might know this one Are they so popular now that all their fans are THAT new?? Dunno just thought that was weird. Their set was great though. Magas also rocked. Great schizophrenic dancing, that man. : ) Both of them could have played much longer, imho. I am definetly happy I came out, despite rumors that the redwings chaos would get in my way. :) -j [EMAIL PROTECTED] .edu To: 313@hyperreal.org cc: 06/14/02 11:57 Subject: [313] Concert last night: ADULT. AM Last night, in Saint Andrew's in Detroit, Adult. performed while the Redwings took the Cup. The audience was pretty into it, despite all the hoopla outside in downstairs in the bar. Was anyone else there? I am curious to hear your impressions. Sorry if this is slightly off-topic. Magas played before Adult. Before Magas, this tall skinny guy in a blazer spun records. He looked kind of like the late Ian Curtis. I am also curious if anyone knows who he is. He played some good stuff, but he wasn't on the bill. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[313] Re: electro is trendy
I love how people still consider electro trendy. Funny cos it's been looked at this way since '96 or so. Also, how people call electro retro or 80s but never label techno this way. Funny, cos the root-shaping of BOTH of these subgenres took place in the 80s in one way or another. Electriyin Mojo was never afraid to jump across genres, and he was definetly revolutionary. I like classic techno as much as the next person, but I cant disgard electro by calling it trendy and pushing it aside. I never understood this whole philosophy. -j :P [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Sakari Karipuro [EMAIL PROTECTED], termi.net313@hyperreal.org cc: 06/05/02 10:04 Subject: Re: [313] Techno/Industrial (was Re: [313] Does anyone compare AMto Hawtin?) nope, the immediate future is electro and micro*.* both are considered trendy among those who need to be trendy to be part of something -Joe - Original Message - From: Sakari Karipuro [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Wednesday, June 05, 2002 9:55 AM Subject: Re: [313] Techno/Industrial (was Re: [313] Does anyone compare to Hawtin?) [313] acid (house)
Greetings all. Just to expand my knowledge a bit more, I have been recently interested in acid/acid house and its history. When I think of this genre Baby Ford and portamento'd 303 basslines come to mind, but I'm sure I am either just scratching the surface or overgeneralizing. The track Are You Saved? by Traxx and Deecoy on the Int. Deejay Gigolos comp. 5 got my gears turning mentally as to ask what the roots/sounds of acid truly are. If possible, please post links/discogs/mixes. -jen This transmission is confidential and intended solely for the person or organization to whom it is addressed. [313] chicago-house-inspired italoesque disco / Legowelt
Greetings all... The tie to 313 is a slim one, however, I am very interested in the almost chicago-house-inspired italoesque disco/ electro of the dutch Legowelt (aka Dj Marquis de Blanco.) It would be much appreciated if any listmembers could point me in the direction of some classic material with ties to this sound, and some new labels/artists (besides the obvious Bunker/viewlexx den haag sounds). I am currently producing tracks that bear a resemblance to this sound and I would like to expand my knowledge. Any ideas/comments/etc welcome. -J. Re: [313] chicago-house-inspired italoesque disco / Legowelt
yeah i am familiar with classic italo such as alexander robotnick, klein m.b.o., etc i am particularly interested in tracks of this style with an extra dose of super-acidy warm synthiness... I was very impressed with (what i saw of/ the last hour or so) with carlos souffront's DJ set at 2000 DEMF, he played prior to ADULT./ectomorph. Pretty dark/synthy italo stuff. hmm i wonder if there's anyone knowledgeable out there willing to make a mix+tracklist for me...? : ) thanks for the recommendations/etc, -J armin holzgethan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Jennifer Wiringer/Det/J Walter [EMAIL PROTECTED], 313@hyperreal.org vie.ac.at cc: Subject: Re: [313] chicago-house-inspired italoesque disco / 02/07/02 03:27 PM Legowelt Please respond to a9227118 some older stuff: scotch - penguins' invasion some early jesse saunders on jessay, precision, mitchbal, trax etc (but it's already another story) n.o.i.a. on zyx records other labels danica records alexander robotnick clone had a nice bootleg once with charly - spacerwoman, shari vari 2 other italo tracks. anyone can name them? klein m.b.o. don't know much ... armin [EMAIL PROTECTED] schrieb: Greetings all...
