RE: [313]online record stores
I had heard bad things about Satellite Records, but decided to try them out anyways. Unfortunately, it turns out that everything negative I heard was true. They sent me records other than what was on the shipping list and one of the records I received looked as though it had been slammed in a door. Also, it took them about 3 weeks to get the order out to me. Definitely not worth it... Groovetech, on the otherhand, is great. I've used them many times, all positive experiences. As compliment to Groovetech's customer service: One time they sent me the wrong record, and when I informed them of this, they immediately (next day air) sent me out the correct record along with postage for return shipping on the old one. -Joe - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: [313] Richie Hawtin - DE909
I read an interview with Air recently (Remix magazine maybe?) where they said something to the effect that you can accomplish much more concentrating on one instrument (be it older, yet quality) than you ever would trying to learn the ins-and-outs of every new instrument that arrives on the market. This seems like a reasonable stance, and perhaps Richie follows the same line of thinking... -Original Message- From: Jayson B. I'd just like to mention that i find it fascinating that someone who is so very concerned with being forward thinking has obsessively used one single instrument for 10 years or so. mind you richie has done things with the 909 that not many have done. [313] Essential Jeff Mills?
I'm a beginner, I know. Anyways... I recently came across quite a large selection of Jeff Mills releases in a used bin, and only being aware of his mixing, I was unsure of what to buy. All the records are going for under $4, which is cool, but I was hoping somebody could give me some direction on what to purchase with my limited cash. So in other words, are there any essential Jeff Mills releases I should be aware of? Thanks! - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[313] Detroit for Life
Seeing as it is a slow day, and the "2030" thread is gasping for breath, I thought I'd ask a question I haven't seen posted to the list before... Do any list members have Detroit/313 tattoos (i.e. Plastikman)? If not, what would you get and why? [313] More Jak...
(Long...little repetitive--just my take) Since the m-nus website posted the start time for Jak as 12 midnight, my friends and I headed down to City Club and got in line about 11:30 pm. When we pulled up, the line appeared to wrap completely around the entire building, but fortunately, it was two separate lines--one for Richie and one for the Planet-e party. The Richie line took up about one and a half lengths of the Ramada building when I arrived. We initially expected they would begin letting people in at about 1:00 am due to our experiences with other Richie parties, but when 1:00 am arrived, we had hardly moved. As time passed, people in front of us dropped out of line, allowing us to move up a little. When the rain started at about 1:30, much more people dropped out of line. I think everyone there was pretty upset about the wait, especially considering none of the bouncers clued anybody in as to what was going on, but we had already wasted 2 hours of our night and trying to go anywhere else would just have made the wait seem more pointless. Finally about 2:15 we got in the door. The 75 people or so behind us, also got in soon after--I believe. Once inside, we found out that the place was already packed. I have no idea how all the people got in considering the fact I was there at 11:30 and I never saw any people flow into the club. The flyer said capacity was 1000, and the woman at the door said at least 3000 had already been in/out throughout the night. As for the atmosphere inside, it was very dark and very packed. We made it onto the dancefloor and as mentioned by other attendees, the sound was deafening. It rattled my insides to the point I felt it might be unhealthy. Adding to my fear of bodily harm was that I was part of a sea of people pressed together so tightly we could hardly move. From what I could see, there was only one exit, and all I could think about was getting trampled to death. Also, I narrowly avoided getting the end of a cigarette in my eye several times. With all that considered, however, I still enjoyed myself for the short time I was there. The dark atmosphere combined with the large crowd and pounding music was exhilerating--even after hours in the cold and rain. I hope for future events, however, either Richie gets some respect for his fans and does something about the ridiculous waits and over capacity venues, or perhaps the fans turn there backs on the mistreatment and don't attend at all. Unfortunately I don't forsee any of that happening, considering Richie is good and he and the rest of the world knows it... -Joe - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Can somebody please email me privately with directions to the "Under the Bridge" location. I'd follow my instincts, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. By the way, I will be coming over via '94 east. RE: [313] aqcauviva at motor
Motor was a little too packed last year for Acquaviva as far as I'm concerned. It felt like it was about 110 degrees inside and there was barely enough room to turn around--still a good show none the less... So if only 20 people showed up to see Acquaviva play this year, more room for me! -Original Message- From: dan ito [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, May 21, 2001 2:04 PM To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [313] aqcauviva at motor last year motor was packed every night after the festival. i don't see why anything would change. i can't wait for sneak! >From: "Dennis Donohue" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], 313@HYPERREAL.ORG >Subject: [313] aqcauviva at motor >Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 08:48:40 -0500 > > > >>On a different note I kind of feel bad for John Aquaviva though. [313] [OT] Question for Technic Owners
Sorry for the OT post, but I tried to get a response from the Gear List, but unfortunately have not received an answer... Anyways, I just received my first pair of Technic-1200 M3D's the other day and was suprised to find that all the documentation included within the boxes is written in what appears to be Japanese. This includes the instruction manual and an accompanying advertisements. Is this to be expected, or have I possibly received merchandise that is for sale outside of the U.S.? I just want to get my facts straight in case I have to call the place of purchase.
