[313] When going to Sonar remember this....
Sonar is really a thing to concider. The weather is mostly great, Barcelona is a great city and the music is fun (and the food is good...). There is only one big but...the festival is growing and growing and growingI have been there last year, and the year before and last year the 'magic' at night was all lost because they had chosen a very big nightvenue. Two large halls of an exhibition centre and one outside area (more a place for a big rave then a electronic music festival)...fare away from the city centre and a complete nightmare when it comes to getting homeThe saturday is mostly the day to skip...a complete overload of people...day and night (two years ago they stormed the night venue.complete madness...) You could check out the 'music for...' series from brian eno, very interesting. Also 'another green world' has some strange electronic things that you can relate to cage and stuff i guess. On the other hand you can make a link to Nam Yun Paik, who's an fluxus artist as well and experimented with sound (modelated piano's, televisions etc0 Another link could probably be, although i am not quiet sure, Tone / No Tone from germany. And that guy who plays records on an recordplayer with two tonearms. I also know that The Surgeon has some sideprojects where he experiments with soundsscapes (on Fat Cat??) and speaking of which, Merzbow is very interesting as well (and of course all those 'Glitch' music things, that's really cage style music...)
