FW: (313) berlin, berlin wir fahren nach berlin :) OR FRANCIS' UNANSWERED 2006 QUESTIONS pt1
Nobody ever volunteered any info :x But undiscouraged we (a 9-strong reckless band) will be there this weekend anyway (airport security permitting). Fortunately Weekend, Maria, Watergate, Berghain - which are where we're going - are all looking sweet. Can someone give me the skinny on the Polar TV thing I'm reading about though? I could have got this wrong but the theory I'm forming is that Polar TV Sternradio are connected (night/venue) and are also at Alexanderplatz 5 but a on a different floor to Weekend? Or has Weekend replaced Sternradio and Polar TV is elsewhere now? I'm confused Gutted as I wasn't getting a line up for Weekend till today when it's revealed Henrik Schwarz who I want to see again so badly is playing on Thurs THE NIGHT BEFORE I GET THERE. Plus it's not too late if anyone has additional suggestions. But mostly I'm posting to see if anyone, fellow visitors or locals would like to hook up. We're staying at Circus. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 31 May 2006 17:31 To: 313@Hyperreal.Org Subject: FW: AW: (313) berlin, berlin wir fahren nach berlin :) -Original Message- From: Emiliano Zani [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 26 May 2006 08:41 yep, can't wait to go there in August... i haven't been in polar tv, but AFAIK it is not located in Alexanderplatz 5, but rather Heldestrasse (http://www.no-ufos.de/seiten/mapcontact.htm) . However, Weekend and Sternradio ARE in the same building. Its an pretty tall office building, where sternradio is located on the 1st floor and weekend is located in 17th floor (or smth) with nice view outside the windows... the ticket prices are not that high (7-10 eur), so it is a good idea to check both venues. Theo was really rockin it hard at the Weekend club, making love to the turntables and the eq. Nothing better than hearing Theo and seeing the sun come up over a 12th floor view of Berlin, really nice stuff. To tell you the truth, I wasn't ready for what I was about to see at the Sunday night Panarama bar (Rhythm Sound label party). Turned up around 7pm to hear Ricardo V banging it out to what seemed like a crowd of Saturday night drug fuelled leftovers. Went searching for the outside courtyard where RS were supposed to be playing, to no luck. Bouncer said that they had to move them inside and weren't going to start until 8 or 9pm. Maybe i'm getting old, but I just couldn't put up with the Villalobos bang bang and the chem'd up party people at Panarama Bar for another two hours, so unfortunately I missed out. Personally, just didn't seem like the right venue for RS. Maybe next time I get to Berlin, I'll be more used to the party vibe there. Peace, Patrick. -- Southern Outpost - Sydney. yep, i'll be there too. btw: on saturday there's a redbullmusicacademy lecture with theo (and dixon, i suppose) at week-end club (alexanderplatz 5) from 17 to 20 h before the party. the rhythmsound party at panoramabar (if the weather's good in the garden) on sunday starts at 12h noon, feat. ric villalobos, tikiman, soundhack and dj pete. a little bird told me that the very special guest from detroit will be CC! see you there, c* Simon Hindle schrieb: Yup, this weekend seems to be the bomb time to be in Berlin - a friend is over there at the moment.
