that 'little dick' song, whoever wrote it

Are you thinking about the Short Dick Man track by DJ Funk? That has got
to be one of the funniest tracks ever made. My friend has a copy that he
keeps because it's just too damn funny not to. Plus it's not some guy saying
Pop that or some other crap. It's actually about two women talking
about the size of some guy's privates and how it's the smallest thing
they've ever seen. It's still raunchy and lowest common denominator... kinda
like a Howard Stern Show put to music.

I love the rawness of the music but the lyrics leave me vacant.
I prefer stuff that uplifts everyone and is sensual... not sexual.
Although... if you want something from a female perspective check out
Peaches. I saw her live with Gonzales and she is raw and nasty without being
lewd. Sophisticated porn music? She only had an 808 as accompaniment. The
music had that hard jacking sound and the lyrics are nasty but somehow
coming from a woman it was really cool.

You can find her stuff on Kitty-YO! Records @ http://www.kitty-yo.com/

Otherwise Booty Bass is just what emma said it is...

would u like some sexist drivel with your bass? yes please!

i had a considered mail about the whys and wherefores of bollocks bass,
but i figured i needed to respond on the level of the music.

all they have to do is cut the lyrics but then all those hormonal
adolescent boys/men/grrls won't be interested, *sniff* *snort* *dribble*

My favorite booty track is on Mixxvibes Session 4. It has a great female
vocal. The best part is that people who do or don't know booty dig it about
the same. It's called PMS.

I'm gonna get my PMS, I'm going through my period. PMS. PMS. PMS. PMS.

I remember hearing the Gillette version (? it was a while ago) dropped at a

i think that is the beauty of it...well not beauty. it is party music. who
doesn't like to get a little raunchy when they party. i really shouldn't be
a music that is appreciated for its talent and beauties. it should be
listened to for fun. and i think that is what it all comes down to.

Re: [313] Bass booty ?

IMHO the booty guys to watch are Disco D and Zap.
their mixes are available on www.gtirecordings.com

while we're on the subject, there's a bunch of
staple tracks that I hear in their and assaults'
and godfathers' mixes that I just can't trainspot.

(Though I recently figured out who DJ Funk was!)

Assault has sampled/remixs of tracks with the vocal part:
Aww sh--/Here we go/Hit it from the back/Beat that ---
but who did the original? is it from my Miami?
(on the new Assault mix,
there's a raw Aw S--- (female version))

Also, the one thats just like Jit jit jit jit jit
(I know a lot are like that, but there's one in particular.)

there's a simlar one thats like umbumpumbumpba, umbumpumbumpba.
who is doing this stuff? its like minimal bumpin' booty!!

thanks for the tip on Peaches
peace,
DJG

RE: [313] Bass booty ?

I wrote Gwendal something a little longer, but in essence my recommendations
are some of the Assault and Godfather tracks, a large helping of Aux 88
and other Direct Beat releases, and quite a bit of Dance Mania especially
DJ Deeon. Rick Garcia is also consistently good. Much of the rest is
very hit or miss, and I took a pass on Belle Isle Tech.

One thing that's not readily apparent outside Detroit (and Chicago I imagine)
is that booty/bass DJs don't spin entirely that style in their sets, at
least the ones I've seen. That's how things like Plastic Dreams slip in.
Anything you can play 140 bpm +/- and have it *jump* -- that's what to use.
