  Flexitone-G.Donald, B.Gillen
I always thought Flexitone was just Brendan, but Mr Gillen is the main
brain behind Ectomorph. G Donald, I could tell you but then I'd have to
 kill you.

There was also another Flexitone on Planet E which was more of a
straight-forward electro effort IMO. I sold it a while back, but I'd
probably buy it again if I saw it now.

RE: [313] The one hit wonders of techno/ where r they now?

2001-04-10 Thread Batory, Jason
Stefan Robbers is definately alive and kickin. He's got a new ep out on his
own label FWD: under the pseudonym Sierra Romeo. It's deep, ambient, glitchy
stuff. He also recently had an ep out on Ifach.

Cheap is still around. There was an ep late last year called Hoping by
Louie Austin which I belive was co-produced by Patrick - not sure if
anything has been released since that. There's also the offshoot label Super
Cheap.

2001-04-09 Thread Nathan John de Yonker

I can get you started with a few obvious ones.

I'll start with a Planet E compilation called
Elements of and experiments with sound released in
 1994.

 Mode Selector-F.Flowers
Fanon Flowers is still around and kicking. I'm not sure that he's based in
Detroit anymore. He used to be an Ypsi native. He's made all sorts of
great hard techno records and wowed people at the last demf. I have one of
his 12's on the konsequent label, and he used to run Mechanism
Industries.

 Flexitone-G.Donald, B.Gillen
I always thought Flexitone was just Brendan, but Mr Gillen is the main
brain behind Ectomorph. G Donald, I could tell you but then I'd have to
kill you.

I'm sure people can help you out more, but it's really no wonder that
people sort of surface and drop off the face of the earth. They get jobs,
go to school, move out of the 313/248/810/734, have to sell their gear,
get married, etc. There are countless reasons many great unknown producers
put out one record and then just run out of time to make music. Dare I
call myself even a good producer, I may be in the same boat when I head
off to grad school in august :

It's been quite a while since i last talked to Natasja and Jeroen from
Utecht (not Eindhoven :) They had some major setbacks. They were also very
disappointed in the music industry and still have a complete album that never
got released. When i spoke to them they were starting to work on new material,
but i don't know if that ever happened. I hope we will hear from them again
because they were very talented and had a unique sound.

Some more releases:
- The Dream Tec Album on U-Trax (using various names)
- The Black Hole EP on U-Trax
- E2L9 on Phoq U (a U-Trax sublabel) using the name Cray Emoticon

Btw, i think Fanon Flowers' first release was also on Phoq U. The Sleeper EP
as Inventions And Diamentions. Great to show off your very first release to
your family: PHOQ U :)
