RE: (313) Congoman
really? congoman was always my favorite, that bassline is too funky. and previous to carl craig getting involved, i had planned on sampling the congos at the beginning of the track, but now everybody will know where they came from. my second favorite track on the album is the sodom and ghemorrah track. its way too great of an album to really pick out specific good songs, theyre all quality. Well, I can certainly relate to that... about Fisherman, it's probably because that's the first song by the Congos I've heard, and also because of the vocal interplay... Gwendal
RE: (313) Congoman
it's congos without the e... you'll find some samples on Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B05L86/qid=1048085471/sr=8-4/ref=sr_8_4/002-1809893-1342411?v=glances=musicn=507846 ; this album is totally worth the hunt, like a lot of people I think this is one of he most beautiful reggae albums ever recorded... the way I see it, Fisherman is the highlight of the record. No idea about your other questions though... RE: (313) Congoman
Blood and Fire rereleased it around 5 years ago - it's some of the sweetest reggae you'll ever hear - it was overpplayed in the record shop I use to work at but I never got sick of it - leave the E out of Congos when searching on the net and you're sure to find what you're looking for. -Original Message- From: Mann, Ravinder [CCS] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2003 2:56 PM To: '313' Subject: (313) Congoman was searching on line for some snippets for a roots/reggae CD called The Heart Of The Congoes...I couldnt find any..so if anyone can point way...tried google... ...anyway to my suprise I found lots of mentions of a Carl Craig remix of Congoman...Has anyone heard this ? Also is it true theres a Jeff Mills article in Staight No Chaser ? Yeah, i just saw it at lunchtime - he's on the cover. Didn't buy it though.. Carl Craig remix of Congoman...Has anyone heard this ? I got one, it's 2 different edits, real nice. Thing is, I don't have the original, so I can't comment too much. I don't think he changed it too much though, just extended a couple of parts and maybe added a couple of nice little stabs dead lowdown in the mix... _ - End of message text This e-mail is intended only for the person to whom it is addressed.
