funny- i don't feel binary =P sure, he's not. but i'm just saying that from the booth you couldn't tell. more to the point is the fact that those speakers crackle all the time. RE: [313] control 3
huh?? just kidding...I like it loud. I love the feeling I used to get when I would walk into a wharehouse party one one side, and on the other side were the speaker stacks. As you got closer it started to echo less and less...And by the time you were there it was so goddam loud you couldn't talk to your best friend who went with. All I had to do was look at him and think this is going to be great, and he would know what I was thinking, cuz he was thinking the same thing. And the feeling of the sound wave hitting the body and vibrating the air around me...incredible... i'd still rather have sex though ;) jeff! -Original Message- From: Paul Hudson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 30, 2002 7:12 AM To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [313] control 3 If this is the point then why not stay at home, plug in a pair of headphones to your hi-fi and crank the volumne up to full - it'll make you just as deaf. Re: [313] control 3
I'll agree that an overloaded system is a bad thing. And yes, its disgusting how some of these 'professionals' can't work a mixer properly. But again, the Jak system is meant to have some dirt to it. And that is why Rich chooses to use it. It might have gotten a little overboard at Control2 (guest DJs and lots of drinking in the booth). But at the same time, Rich has also used the Blue system from Cinnci (?) and even Burst on occasion when he wanted a cleaner, tighter sound. Re: [313] control 3
says who? Richie has been throwing these sort of parties for years, and they are always THAT loud. There is a viceral experience that you can only get at certain volumes. And that is what Richie (as artists and promoter) is going for. And it is reflected in the music played during that night. Not every party Rich throws is like that. Which is why he doesn't always use the Jak system. But the experience of the Control parties, like the Jak parties before them, is inherently tied to the physical effect of volume. Wear earplugs (I probably will this time) or stay home. On Tue, 30 Jul 2002, J. Re: [313] control 3
it´s not all about the ears - freequenzys are also there to vibrate in your body - that doesn´t work over the headphone - high frequenzys land on the top of your head lower ones will make your booty swing - etc.. this is what helps people dance - one aspect, why it´s not only about listening music - different music-productions and different often not very exact systems make it difficult for tranced djs to get all 2gether in the best way - so the level goes up and some even like the feeling of overpowered systems - testosterone click :) so it´s always good to have some earplugs with you before f*cking your ears _ my 2.000 euros > If this is the point then why not stay at home, plug in a pair of headphones > to your hi-fi and crank the volumne up to full - it'll make you just as > deaf. > > I honestly see no point in places the play music at rediculas levels. I hate that. -Joe - Original Message - From: "scotto" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <313@hyperreal.org> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, July 30, 2002 12:49 AM Subject: [313] control 3 > I'm woundering if this is goning to be at city club again? > I'm looking at getting a room at the hotel there if it is. > > > - > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
