I think that it may be on the Network version.
Funky funk funk is entirely forgettable, but bassline redeems the record.

Pardon my ignorance but the drum and bass people around 5 years ago were
all doing variations on a fat bassline sound, which they called a Reese

there is a typical Reese sounding tune.

The best for me though is the 100 not out ep by DJ Q on Filter records. It

done by Kevin Saunderson. I had it but some bastard switched it at a gig

Probably been answered already but yes, it's the same Reese - (NOT Alex
Reese either!) I doubt it's necessary to sample it though - it's relatively
easy to produce I understand from my lil bro' with an er 808? Is
it? I'm sure I'll be told. n/eway, he says only a fool would sample it -
unless of course you don't have the required kit ... And of course now you
have soft emulators .. definitely not worth sampling.

The Reese Bassline that people were talking about in the jungle/dnb world
 does come from Alex Reese.

Does it bollocks. It comes from Kevin 'Master Reese' Saunderson - a track
like 'Human Bond' is a good example of his use of the sound. Alex Reece
(note correct spelling of his surname) has absolutley nothing to do with
it...

Reese, of course, coming from Alex Reese, who first used
that wobble type sound in 1994, I believe.

No, Alex Reese has nothing to do with it. The name Reese comes from Kevin
Saunderson nickname Reese, actualy he called himself Kevin 'Master reese'
Saunderson (KMS). 'Master Reese' is a spin of from his middle name,
Maurice...

it's definitely him they mean when they say a Reese Bassline. Can't think of

The Reese Bassline that people were talking about in the
jungle/dnb world does come from Alex Reese.

I don't know if Kev Saundy ever made a bassline that was called
the Reese, but that is irrelavent, that's not what they were
talking about.

Name another Adam F classic, except Colours :o)? ... OK, I admit, he's the

he doesn't have much of a body of work behind him - compared to say someone

RE: RE: RE: Re: [313] inside out

2002-01-25 Thread elkay

i played drum and bass for 5 years and was pretty into that scene in
Boston, where i lived at the time. other dnb head friends from coast to
coast pretty much all respected adam f. but then again, most dnb people
love to hate almost anyone anyway, admittedly.

colors metropolis brand new funk were all adam f anthems, all from
around the same time though. good to see he's moving on.

doesn't it all depend on how it is spelled??

Reece-Kevin Saunderson
Reese-Alex Reese?

or something like that. i could have it backwards. i know they are both
big names in their respected genre's, but i think the names are spelled
backwards...

but then again i could be wrong as usual...

led to Reese?
