Re: X-mix on vinyl
As Seen In Shop: !K7 has a trio of CD boxsets out now with 3 discs of X-mix fun per set! ... no DJ cards, though, J. E. v.F-B. B.
Re:[313] RE: X-Mix on vinyl
There was no X-Mix 1 in the format we all know (video + cd + vinyl). And indeed, all the X-Mixes (at least the early ones were released on triple vinyl). I know because I have X-Mix 2 by Laurent Garnier, X-Mix 3 (Hawtin/Aquaviva), X-Mix 4 (Dave Angel) and X-Mix 5 (Hell, best in the series for me, very rare tracks on that one). And I've seen the Ken Ishii, Hardfloor, Mr C, Dave Clarke X-Mix'es on vinyl as well. Happy hunting! Re:[313] RE: X-Mix on vinyl
I'm not sure of that statement RD. I'm sure I know of people that have X-Mix 1 on vinyl... and I'm talking people that bought it brand new. Even tho I have never physically seen a copy, I can't justify my statement. But ALL the other X-mix series has 'DEFINITELY' been released. Also FYI, the 3-Lux vids(early animation vids pre X-mix) have been 'supposeivley' re-released on DVD! This is one of the most innovative series (I think 3 parts were released all up), using layering of images that triggered different images to pop up! Definitely worth to purchase on the full digital tip!! d-JCB There was no X-Mix 1 in the format we all know (video + cd + vinyl). Re: [313] RE: X-Mix on vinyl/IO
Pretty sure I.O. is Patrick Pulsinger and crew (I think include Gerhard Potuzni) from the Cheap crew. Some of their early stuff was fairly straight up acidic techno, as compared to the more experimental path the label currently takes. I haven't been following this thread too closely so forgive me if this has been mentioned already. If you can find the I.O. on Mo' Wax Excursions, then repressed on a Cheap 2x pack, either are easilly worth the price for the song Libre. It's brilliant slower moody house (around 112bpm), with a slightly acidic bassline, lush pads, etc. Every time I revisit this track I kick myself for not listening to it more often. The Pullsinger Porno album is also worth a close listen, for a good intro to the diversity of his sound. Great CD insert too - I imagine the vinyl insert must be great if it exists.
