If I'd only heard it on headphones at a shop I'd agree but having heard it at Avalon in NYC a few weeks back when Curtis played it I can tell you that on a big system - at the right moment - it drives the crowd frickin' mental;) As of course does Midnight I'm not really feeling the Green Velvet rmx though.

Yeah. I'm well into it too. The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the bassline that comes in - how it first enters, but as a tool you don't even need to use it until that point in the track, and you're absolutely right that it works with loads. Naturally I do. But I like what you're saying about using it as a utility. I guess it's ideal for that so I am more inclined to get it now than before I heard your view. Nicely informed views is a big chunk about what this is all about innit?! So cheers! Ken

I was just saying that's all - loads of my mates hate it as well, but I just took a little liking to it for some reason - mainly cos I can use it to get between disco and house and techno when dj'ing. *and I think it sounds hot loud too* one for the 'jackers' (and I know a few of those...) : p alex _ - End of message text This e-mail is sent by the above named in their individual, non-business capacity and is not on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Any money I will bet you, I hear it in Plastic People and be drooling as well as kicking myself for not picking up one of the copies - and there are stacks of them in London at the moment, I don't think I'm the only one not understanding it. Back to the record shop. Hope not too late. I hope this is on topic enough for you all! If not: NP: DJT1000 - PROGRESS LP - MARINA - Seriously underrated old-fashioned, Detroit-style, proper techno, with loops, 4/4 beats, strings, perplexingly out of place kicks (but they work) and tonnes of atmosphere ... and you didn't buy it did you?! Agreed. That's a nice little package: Parrish; Ollivierra (Ibex) and the sweet original by Genesis. >-Original Message- >From: Peteri, Jochem [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: Tuesday, March 09, 2004 3:40 PM >To: 313@hyperreal.org >Subject: RE: (313) whats hot this week > > >the dj kent thing bored me too, ill stick with the genesis "back >in the middle" track. >the whole kent-affair seemed somewhat cold > > >-Original Message- >From: Ken Odeluga [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: dinsdag 9 maart 2004 16:37 >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Org >Subject: RE: (313) whats hot this week > > >I really am not getting that DJ Kent thing.
