Correct me if I am wrong, MS Outlook is server based, which means the mails you save is not saved in your hard disk, while mails you save in Outlook Express is saved in your hard disk. Congradulations Subramanian for being brave to say what you think as right. There is no end if one section of society goes on asking for concessions for itself. One has also to care for the paying capacity of the system at large. The concession under the Income tax law for PH is based on the premise that the handicap limits the earning capacity of the individual. as such, one cannot draw anology between IT concession and concession in the form of higher interest to PH persons. If I am correct, banks do give concessions in interest on loans advanced under self employment schemes, for which there certainly exist a rationale. 1. When we talk about the disabled, let us also think of those who are not visually challenged and those who cannot use assistive technologies to work productively. 2. Even those who have access to assistive technologies seldom get an opportunity to work or earn a living. 3. Lots of people become disabled in the middle age, due to accidents or disease, and are not able to get proper rehab inputs and usually retire early. Let us not forget that not every person has a pensionable job. 4. And, there are the cases where disabled persons live off inheritances or endowments made in their names. In a country which can afford to spend thousands of crores on poorly-targetted welfare schemes (Remember Rajiv Gandhi admitting that just 15 paisa of every welfare Rupee reaches the targeted needy. His son has revised the figure to 5 paisa after e-governance has been introduced. (smile)), I don't think we need to feel too guilty about asking for a 0.5% additional interest for bank deposits of the disabled. After all, it will be a well-targetted scheme, benefiting only those who are disabled and their families. And, it is going to cost just a fraction of the Rs 60,000 crores written off in farms loans waiver recently. As I said, it may be fashionable to claim we are equal to the able-bodied in all respects and have to be treated equally, but, let us admit that both assumptions are far from reality. Hi Subramani Basically in MS Outlook there are 3 ways of recieving mails. If You choose POP3 then the mails get stored on your local system If you choose IMAP option then the mails are stored on the server. It features a new design with round keys and a short, joystick-like controller - a departure from the earlier design, which some buyers had criticized as awkward. Despatch to retail sale points will start on February 24. The price remains at $359. For $3.99, all Kindle users can buy a short story by Stephen King that will be exclusive to the Kindle for a limited time. Our vision is every book, ever printed, in any language, all available in less than 60 seconds, said Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder and CEO. Perhaps most significant, Amazon said it would start selling e-books that can be read on mobile phones and other devices, although Amazon did not say when it would do so or which devices would be compatible. It also announced a new feature, Whispersync, which would allow readers to begin a book on one Kindle and continue, at the same point in the text, on another Kindle or a mobile phone. Analysts say the move is aimed at establishing Amazon as the dominant e-commerce platform for books, a position similar to the one Apple has assumed in music with its iTunes Store. For the Kindle format to really take off, it has to go beyond being a very expensive device that has broad but still limited appeal and be able to get the content onto other devices like the iPhone, said Michael Gartenberg, an analyst at Interpret, a market research firm. Amazon faces a serious challenge from Google, which has scanned some seven million books, many of them out of print. Google said last week that it would soon sell books from its publishing partners for reading on mobile devices like the iPhone from Apple and phones running Google's Android operating system. But some worry that Amazon may be assuming too much control over pricing, similar to the influence Apple has established in the music business. Hollow Sir, Talks 3.52 or 3.603 are designed for third generation mobiles. They can't support sis file format. But your N72 is second generation mobile. if the senior citizens can be accorded 0.5% extra on the earned interest, then I don't see the reason why the disabled segment of India can't be found to be eligible to fit in the same slot. Usually at the age of a senior, majority of the seniors will have done away with their responsibilities of life e.g. construction of a home -- if they didn't inherit one from their own parents, have paid-off the dowry bills -- if they had any daughters, and will now be enjoying their youthhood of their lives. The young person who has lost his vision for no fault of his has lost his whole world. Unable to open any door in life, s/he is the person who needs monetary assistance the most. After all, how many people really want to and really do help a blind person in India? And, how many blind/disabled people live off inheritances or endowments made in their names? Are there any statistical figures available to prop up your claim? I'm speaking of the 80% Indian population here, friends., and not the elite of India (and I'm made to very strongly believe that a vast majority of AccessIndians and members of Voice Vision belong to the lattar extract). If they/you have anything to refute, then how could you fellows be in a position to buy a small component called JAWS which still costs some whooping INR 60,000? Things just don't end there. You have to buy Kurzweil -- another Rs 50,000, a computer system to install all this stuff on and...and...and...(the list is endless) I'm certain all this investment touches close to some INR 500,000 with other peripherals like scanners and printers included. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm made to believe that GOI doesn't help with a single paisa -- unless you are a meritorious disabled student. So, I feel that the banks should come to our rescue, so that we can purchase our adaptive and assistive technologies. The 0.5% interest increase will not cause a big dent in the bank's stomach. There is no end if one section of society goes on asking for concessions for itself. One has also to care for the paying capacity of the system at large. The concession under the Income tax law for PH is based on the premise that the handicap limits the earning capacity of the individual. as such, one cannot draw anology between IT concession and concession in the form of higher interest to PH persons. If I am correct, banks do give concessions in interest on loans advanced under self employment schemes, for which there certainly exist a rationale.
