Announcing the Windows 7 launch, Ravi Venkatesan, Chairman, Microsoft India reportedly said, Proactive engagement and feedback thereof with partners and consumers was fundamental to the development of Windows 7. It has helped deliver what is the highest quality OS in the history of Windows. It enhances the user experience by its sheer simplicity and caters to their connected lives across work and play. Re: [AI] a doubt in reading the web pages in the web ie
Hi, Those who read 'the times of india', can press H twice to reach the main news heading on a web page, but this command is not working while reading 'the hindu.' sps - Original Message - From: Vetrivel Adhimoolam vadhimoo...@gmail.com To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Sent: Wednesday, October 21, 2009 2:06 AM Subject: Re: [AI] a doubt in reading the web pages in the web ie Although there are commands to navigate around such as letter P to go to next paragraph, Letter N to go to the non link etc, they may not be of much use in a long page. However you can follow certain tips to successfully bypass links on pages that you visit regularly. As I see from your messages, you read Hindu regularly and henceforth let me illustrate this by giving you examples from Hindu news paper. Say for example, on the front page you have several links before going to the main news headings. So the best way to bypass those links is to remember the closest link before the news headlines. In this case the closest link is Home. So as soon as you get to the Hindu front page, go to the link list and press letter H to get to the home link. But don't press enter yet. Navigate to move to link button and press either enter or the space bar. Now you will be positioned on the home link and you can quickly navigate to the news headlines by pressing control+down aero few times. You see this is better than going through all those links. Also when you are in a particular article, the closest link before beginning of the text is send this articles to friends. So simply go to the link list and press Letter S. move to the link and you will be positioned right next to the beginning of the paragraph. So the basic thing about frequently visited pages is to remember the link before the beginning of the text. Let me know if there are better tips available than the one I have suggested here. Re: [AI] Fw: [SayEverything] Microsoft launches Windows 7 in India
Up to some extent I agree with Subramani sir. If you see in IE8, most of its features were borrowed from other browsers. In windows 7 no doubt the performance is being greatly improved, but except few features its all common. It is another thing that it has been highlighted a lot. Specially that task bar feature. Now there are talking about releasing windows 8 or 9 after 3 years which will be designed according to 128 bit processors also. In office 2010 also they have borrowed a feature of google docs that's why they are launtching office web apps. There are various features on which we can talk, but these are a few which I remember now. These are my personal views. Lets see how google's operating system gives competition to windows 7. Hi friends, I'm delighted to inform you all that one of the beloved members of our group, Mr. Rajesh Asudani has got promotion as assistant general manager in Reserve Bank of India. He is the first blind person to be appointed directly as the manager in RBI. Now he has created another record by being the youngest blind person to be at the cadre of AGM. Let us wish he moves further in the hierarchy and achieve greater heights. He is a great source of inspiration and motivation for infants in the banking sector like me. Besides paving the way for his successors, he has also got the attitude to guide his imitators, though not many can emulate him. Personally, I am very happy and proud to be closely associated with a person of his kind. I wish him all good luck both in his professional and personal lives. Let us also appreciate RBI for not discriminating against blindness in it's promotion policies which has already been proved in the case of Mr. Harish Kotian who has become an AGM not long ago. Note: All wishes and greetings to Mr. Rajesh shall be directed to his personal mail ID and not as replies to this mail which is against the rules of the list. Having known about him for some time now, I'm sure even he wouldn't argue on this. His mail ID is rajeshasud...@rbi.org.in Regards G. Date:23/10/2009 URL: http://www.thehindu.com/2009/10/23/stories/2009102356171800.htm _ Universal mobile charger coming soon Special Correspondent NEW DELHI: 'One charger for all mobile phones' will be the future, as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations body, has approved the new Universal Charging Solution (UCS). The step will help mobile companies cut costs and also help reduce e-waste. Every user will benefit from the new UCS, which enables the same charger to be used for all future handsets, regardless of make and model. In addition to dramatically cutting the number of chargers produced, shipped and subsequently discarded, the new standard will mean users worldwide will be able to charge mobiles anywhere from any available charger, and reduce the energy consumed while charging, ITU said in a statement.
