Subject: [AI] CorruptionEven In Internet

Hello friends, as we all know that for the last few days the whole
nation including some gallant Access Indian friends has been
participating in the National Mass movement against corruption headed
by none other than the 78 years old Vettern Gandhian Reformer, Anna
Hazare. Although I was not amongst the 500 brave visually challnged
persons who reached Jantar Mantar under one common flag to lend their
undaunted support to Anna the Great, yet I salute them for standing up
for the cause of the whole nation, and especially that of the V I
persons, who have to undergo double ammount of suffering--firstly for
their own limitations and secondly because of the callous attitude of
the corrupt Government politicians and officials. That is why we have
to struggle so hard to get our right to appointment to the vacancies
reserved for us, as well as for other issues regarding accessibility
and resergvation.
The corrupt politicians tried their level best to weaken the
movement. In their vicious efforts they are mysteriously trying even
to hamper the mails regarding this great movement. This is a new
disguise of corruption at the level of internet. So, friends, let us
try to think of ways and means to thart it.
Warm regards.
 Pradeep.

Hello,

Here is an extract from Satguru's message on the list on this topic:

you can not use Talks and Radio at the same time. To
overcome this, do the following:
Launch Radio and open the Talks settings by Talks+*. Go to options and
select Apps Specific settings. Talks would read Radio, using
Standard
settings only. Again go to options and click on Add App Specific
Value
and arrow down to Mute and select. Change it from No to Yess and
exit.

Next time when you would open the radio, the talks would be muted
automatically and exiting the radio would again unmute the talks.

2011-04-12 Thread Pranay Gadodia
Hi,
Around a month ago, I bought an external GPS bluetooth receiver called i-Blue
737A+ from www.semsons.com.
It was for $64 plus $5 for a wall charger plus shipping costs from the US.
Since I ordered two pieces, the final cost at our home was Rs.3900 per piece.

Amazon also sells it, but their price was $5 higher, and they too were shipping
it from semsons.

This receiver is working fine with me. Thanks to Mahesh, one of our list

Re: [AI] radio in c5

2011-04-12 Thread Amiyo Biswas
Ok, I tried it with the hints from Satguru and it worked. In fact, I don't
have to use it. I am using an mp3 player for last four years. I use it
extensively for listening to fm and mainly audio books. Anyway, I am pasting
the relevant portion from Satguru's message:

Launch Radio and open the Talks settings by Talks+*. Go to options and
select Apps Specific settings. Talks would read Radio, using Standard
settings only. Again go to options and click on Add App Specific Value
and arrow down to Mute and select. Change it from No to Yess and exit.

Next time when you would open the radio, the talks would be muted
automatically and exiting the radio would again unmute the talks.

With best regards,
Amiyo Biswas.

[AI] Faster Browsing Using Open DNS.

2011-04-12 Thread Amiyo Biswas
Hello,

I recently came across an article on faster browsing using open dns. I have
tried it, not the whole of it though, and I think, net surfing has really
become slightly faster. Seconds matter in this fast world, you know.

Visit the following site for the article:

Just a word of caution: make sure that you don't mess up things. Remember to
take all kinds of precaution, such as noting down existing dns values or the

Re: [AI] Faster Browsing Using Open DNS.

2011-04-12 Thread Amar Jain

Respected Amiyo Sir and Others,
An article might be of some interest for those who wish to change the DNS
server for fast browsing. Its just for information, even I had tried DNS on
my dialup, and had noticed the same as Amiyo sir. Read on below or click on
the link provided:

http://www.labnol.org/internet/changing-dns-servers/18996/

Before You Change your DNS Server, Read this!
Public DNS services, like OpenDNS or Google DNS, may offer more reliable and
faster lookups than the DNS server of your ISP but in some cases, you may
get much better download speeds if you continue to stick to your ISP’s DNS
server. Here’s why.

You know about Content Delivery Networks like Amazon, Akamai, etc. that have
data centers located across the globe and they serve content from the one
that’s closest to you geographically. A site like Adobe hosts its files on
Akamai so when you download that 1 GB Photoshop installer from Adobe.com,
the file will be served to you from the Akamai data center that’s nearest to
you.

A CDN uses your computer’s IP Address to determine your current location and
then redirects you to the server that’s nearest to you. However, if you use
a public DNS service, the CDN may not get to know your accurate location as
your IP address is masked by the public DNS Service. The CDN could therefore
serve content from a server that’s not closest to you and hence it will take
more time to download files.

A recent story published in The Economist discusses this problem in much
greater detail.

Are CDNs serving you content through the shortest path?

Considering the fact that all major websites – from Microsoft to CNN to
YouTube – use CDNs for delivering content, it is important to know if your
are getting served from the nearest located server. How do you find that
out?

Step 1: Download the Dig tool and run it against a domain (like
trials.adobe.com).

C:\labnoldig trials.adobe.com A
trials.adobe.com. 687 IN CNAME trials.adobe.com.edgesuite.net.
a1326.g.akamai.net. 20 IN A 203.106.85.127
a1326.g.akamai.net. 20 IN A 203.106.85.40
Once you have the IP Addresses, you can find the server’s physical location
using this online tool. If you are in India and request a file through Adobe
(Akamai CDN), it should be served from their data-center in Asia and not the
one in North America.

203.106.85.127MY Malaysia Simpang Tiga TMnet Telekom Malaysia
203.106.85.40 MY Malaysia Simpang Tiga TMnet Telekom Malaysia
When I asked OpenDNS about this issue, their representative told me that it
is something ‘fixable’ and that they’re working on a solution where the DNS
Server itself passes on the client’s location to the CDN. Unless this
happens, as Atul Chitnis rightly points out, non-ISP DNS services “kill the
benefits of CDNs like Akamai.”

i have applied for this policy through the field officer of postal

in this regard, i would like to know about the procedures that are

how much time is treated as reasonable period for issuing this policy
for visually handicapped persons? is four months of time reasonable
for issuance of this policy? if not, what action can be taken at my

maximum limit prescribed under Rule 3 of POIF Rules and revised from

 Hello Madam,
I am also in need of same information for preparing an article on
higher education of persons with disabilities. But there are no
statistics of higher education of the disabled in India. I made a
request to some of the universities in Andhra Pradesh for providing
database of students with disabilities. . But I could not receive
information from any university. Please attach me if you have any

This should also include the B.E or B.Tech Degree.

 Hoping for a quick response,

[AI] request for my friend

2011-04-12 Thread firoz

my friend requested me so i am writing in behalf of him

firoz

I have a friend that is doing some research at North Carolina State
University on how screen reader users surf the internet. In his own
words:
“This is for research to be published in the Assets 2011 conference.
We want to analyze web browsing strategies and start developing
techniques for optimizing them, automatically discovering them, help
researchers explore them, etc.”
This is where I thought you could come in. What he’s asking, is for
volunteers to run a program to record the different keystrokes as they
browse the internet for at least 15 minutes. Here’s some important
information:
-Everything will be anonymous. All information that could be used to
identify you will be removed.
-All you have to do is browse the internet for 15 minutes (on any web
sites you want). Please nothing of an adult nature. All you have to
do is go to the web sites you normally go to, and do whatever you
normally do on them.
-The program will save a text file of the keys that you press, so you
can look through it and make sure that there’s nothing in there that
you don’t want anyone else to see.
-You have complete control over when the program is (and is not)
recording your keystrokes.
-Most of the analysis will be automated in a statistical program
environment called “R”.
-When you send your log file to me, you can ask that I remove all
information, so the person who is doing this study will have
absolutely no way of knowing who you are.

Here’s what you have to do:
1. Download the recorder program from:
http://sina.fi.ncsu.edu/rui.zip

2. Unzip the downloaded file to wherever you like.
3. Go into the “rui” folder that just unzipped, and press enter on the
“Recorder.exe” file.
4. Tab to the checkbox that reads “”mouse clicks”, and uncheck it with
spacebar. Do the same thing for the checkbox that reads “mouse
moves”.
5. Press tab again to the “browse” button, and press enter. A normal
save file window comes up. Please save the file wherever you want,
and with whatever name you want. By default, it will save it in your
“my documents” folder; all you have to do once the window opens is
type in a name, and press enter.
6. After the save file screen closes, you will be put back into the
“rui 2.03” window. Press tab until you get to the “Start recording”
button.
7. Before pressing the “start recording” button, launch a web browser
window (that way, once the application starts to record, you can just
alt-tab to the window and start browsing). Popular web browsers are
Internet Explorer and Firefox. Please feel free to use whatever web
browser you like.
8. In the “rui2.03” window, press enter on the “Start recording”
button, and then switch to your browser window. When browsing the
internet, please try to avoid entering any passwords. All passwords
will be removed, but it is just easier (and safer) if you don’t enter
any passwords when the program is recording your keystrokes. Please
do not close the “rui2.03” window, or it will not record your
keystrokes!
9. After at least 15 minutes of browsing the internet, go to the
“rui2.03” window, and press enter on the “stop recording” button.
10. If you would like to, you can go to the log file (by default in
your “my documents” folder), and look through it to see what the
application recorded. Please do not edit it unless you really need to
remove some information from it.
11. Please email me the log file, and I will pass it along. My email
address if you don’t have it is
spmea...@ncsu.edu.
As I said before,
if you would like me to, I can remove any personal information before
passing it on to the researcher.

Please feel free to email me with any questions, or if you need any
help. There is a deadline for this research, so the sooner you can do
it, the better.

Thanks for your help.

Sean Mealin

Hi Fen, I think the better option for you would be to get the Bible
recorded in DAISY Format and copy paste it on the memory card of your
handset. Then you can hear it with help of the software called DAISY To
Go. That way you will also be able to navigate while reading. I am sure
our worthy friends would definitely be possessing Bible in DAISY Format,

Dell offers NET books with AMD processors around Rs. 23000. Samsung

processor with windows 7 starter addition around Rs. 15000. Net

Re: [AI] request for my friend

2011-04-12 Thread Swarna Lakshmi
The mail Id provided by your friend is invalid, so I have forwarded it to you...
Hi,

This is Ms. Swarna from Bangalore. I am a computer science graduate
and am late way blind. Currently I am working as a Recruiter in a U.S
it firm.

My doubt is can I google for anything and record it and send. I hope
the browsing the company portal might lose the confidentiality...

Waiting for a reply,
Regards,
Swarna

my friend requested me so i am writing in behalf of him

 Sean Mealin
