Re: [AI] query regarding PC getting slow.

2011-06-11 Thread BHAWANI SHANKAR VERMA
have you used disc cleanup? if not, try this
startmenu>program>accessory>system tools>disc cleanup, check all the boxes
and confirm yes.
if so, try to remove *.dmp files from your system. recently i deleted around
8 gb of such files. you can find dmp files with easy cleaner.
256 ram is not a problem with windows xp. same is here with my desktop. if
you are using p4 processor, better you should extend your ram upto maximum,
your mother board supports.

thanks,

Hello accessindians, good morning!
i need your valuable guidance in the aforesaid matter. in order to make
you diagnose the problem properly and come forward with adequate
suggestions, it would not be improper to give a brief description of the
problem.
the problem is that i have to wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes to work
after turning my computer on. i am using 256 MB of RAM and Pentium 4
processor.i also use c-cleaner, disk defragmentation utility of windows
and delete 'prefetch' files manually from time to time.
i would eagerly look forward to your kind cooperation. can 'system
configuration utility' also be of some use in this respect?

[AI] Poor infrastructure concerns ahead of the disability meet

2011-06-11 Thread Vikas Kapoor
Poor infrastructure concerns ahead of the disability meet
Posted: Sun Jun 12 2011, 00:06 hrs
New Delhi:

Delhi, is set to host a major international event for disabled persons in
August, but in terms of infrastructure, the city is woefully unprepared for it.
The issue was brought to the fore at a press conference, organised by Disabled
Peoples' International (DPI), on Saturday.

The DPI, in association with the National Centre for Promotion of Employment
for Disabled People, will organise a regional workshop in Delhi from August 18
to 21. The workshop aims to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

Speaking to reporters, Secretary General of DPI India Javed Abidi said the
event would see hundreds of delegates from India and the Asia Pacific region
taking part and his prime concern was accommodation and transport.

"I have been to every 5star and 3star hotel in the city and in all of them I
have found only one room that has been allocated for disabled persons."

In terms of transport, Abidi pointed out that it was not just Europe and
America that were ahead of us.

"In order to transport people with non-foldable, electric wheelchairs, we need
special vans. I'm sorry to say that I have seen such vehicles even in countries
like Dubai, Vietnam, China and Sri Lanka, but none in Delhi."

Speaking along with him, Saowalak Thongkuay, Regional Development Officer for
DPI Asia Pacific Region, said that the focus of the conference would be to
bring disability issues within the broader ambit of human rights mechanisms and
to revise existing laws to meet the convention.

Dial #09, play into hands of cell cheats
Published: Saturday, Jun 11, 2011, 1:41 IST
By Divyesh Singh | Place: Mumbai | Agency: DNA

Many mobile phone users across the city have been losing money to a new
tele-fraud.
They have reported that they receive calls from unidentified numbers
registered outside the state. The callers tell them that they have won
gift vouchers and ask them to dial a few numbers to claim the prize. Once
the victim dials the numbers, he finds out that he has lost his entire
balance to calls made on premium numbers.
Anand Gotukde, a mobile phone dealer from Kurla, said: "I received a call
around a month ago. The caller told me that he was calling on behalf of a
mobile service provider company. He told me that I had won a gift voucher
and, to complete the procedure, I would have to dial '#09' and then end
the call. The next minute, I received an SMS from the service provider
saying that I had lost my balance of around Rs2,000 to some user in Uttar
Pradesh."
In the same period, around eight to nine other mobile phone dealers from
Kurla lost money to similar calls. Akbar Shaikh, another victim from
Kurla, said: "I complained about the call to my service provider, but it
could not do anything as its system reflected that I had made a call on a
premium number."

Subject: [AI] help needed in configuring mail in e 63,
From: sampath raj rao
Date: 06/03/2011 1:20 pm

Hi Friends,
   Greetings for the day...
I bought Nokia E 63 in the month of March, which has IBM lotus
notes traveler installed as mail browser.
Since its purchase I have been trying to configure my gmail but
all my attempts have gone in vain.
I request the group members to assist me in configuring the same.
The fields that I have to fill are my
>user name
>password
>server name
> access point
where I am able to do with three but at the server name I fail.
to my knowledge there usually be two server name fields one for
incoming mails and other for outgoing mails but in this case there is
only one server name and even in this case I have tried a few
combinations of pop3.gmail.com, smtp.gmail.com, pop3.googlemail.com,
smtp.googlemail.com, gmail.com, googlemail.com, google.mail.com,
mail.google.com and so on but all these attempts have gone of no
use...

So plz guide me in this issue...

Thanking you in anticipation of positive response...

regards,
S.Sampath Raj Rao,

Clarification on allowing preference in transfers to the teachers with 40 and
above percent disability is attached herewith for information. It is our first
achievement after the meeting held on 05/06/2011 at Gandhi Bhavan. Lets hope we
will get more benefits and orders form the government.

[AI] Dial #09, play into hands of cell cheats

2011-06-11 Thread Devdas Nayak

Dial #09, play into hands of cell cheats
Published: Saturday, Jun 11, 2011, 1:41 IST
By Divyesh Singh | Place: Mumbai | Agency: DNA

Many mobile phone users across the city have been losing money to a new
tele-fraud.
They have reported that they receive calls from unidentified numbers registered
outside the state. The callers tell them that they have won gift vouchers and
ask them to dial a few numbers to claim the prize. Once the victim dials the
numbers, he finds out that he has lost his entire balance to calls made on
premium numbers.
Anand Gotukde, a mobile phone dealer from Kurla, said: "I received a call
around a month ago. The caller told me that he was calling on behalf of a
mobile service provider company. He told me that I had won a gift voucher and,
to complete the procedure, I would have to dial '#09' and then end the call.
The next minute, I received an SMS from the service provider saying that I had
lost my balance of around Rs2,000 to some user in Uttar Pradesh."
In the same period, around eight to nine other mobile phone dealers from Kurla
lost money to similar calls. Akbar Shaikh, another victim from Kurla, said: "I
complained about the call to my service provider, but it could not do anything
as its system reflected that I had made a call on a premium number."
