Re: [AI] Gareebrath: Ticket issuing on the births reserved inhandicapquota?
Well there is confusion. Concession rules say that concession is admissable. If you use accomodation availability then it says concession not applicable. I don’t have problem in presenting my concession certificate, but even then they are not allotting the ticket in the said quota. the boss at the station is station master. All have taken same stand. I would certainly complain about this issue, but before that I want to be in a sound position by knowing every relevant guideline. -Original Message- From: Adhimoolam Vetrivel Murugan Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2011 12:17 AM To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Subject: Re: [AI] Gareebrath: Ticket issuing on the births reserved inhandicapquota? When I encounter such issues, I usually do the following: 1. If the reservation counter persons continue to refuse, then try to get in touch with the station director or similar position. I forget the exact designation. 2. If it fails, then launch a complain to the director of your railway devision through registered post. Make sure to attach an acknowledgment card. Also send a copy of the letter to the associated station. You may be able to find the address of your railway devision online. Vetri. On 13/08/2011, Rohiet A. [AI] Topics for convention
Dear All My personal thoughts, is that, we have, some sessions of importance and enough time for members to interact. This is indeed a balancing act and we shall make efforts to strike an optimum balance. Some of the broad areas I have been looking at are: 1 emerging technology 2 We have now the new law being on PWD in its final stages,we need to understand its fine print and do our bit. Besides, UNCRPD is now in force and we have not really moved in that direction. Finally the next 5 year plans are taking shape. In short lots of things happening in this space, we need to watch, speak out and asert our mind. if Nothing for us without us has bearing, we definately need to have an opinion first before we can speak out. 3 I see many parents of VI child joining the list. I guess, it would be timely if we can have a dedicated track on parenting. There would be 3 broad areas here. viz. able bodied parent of vi child, VI parent of able bodied child and both parent and child being VI. Folks, I have presented my thoughts and they are certainly open for review. The convention is what the members want it to be and we shall make all efforts to make it happen. The online registration is now open and can be accessed on: http://www.accessindia.org.in/harish/convention.htm The FAQ page is stale and needs to be updated. Awaiting inputs for it. However, it shall give a good idea though. Similarly, the Bank details shall be made available shortly for E.F.T. Members can certainly register now and keep updating their profile. Re: [AI] Gareebrath: Ticket issuing on the births reserved inhandicapquota?
Hello Mr. Jain, As far as my knowledge is concerned, 8 births are reserved for persons with disabilities 4 each in 2 disabled compartments in each end of the Gareebradh. We cam claim for a ticket in the quota by submitting a copy of concission certificate. In case of non availlability of persons with disabilities the births are allotted to those who are in the waiting list at the time of preparation of chart. Reservation clercks in major stations are aware of this reservation. But consission is not allowed in this quota. In other words, we can travel in disabled quota by paying Rs. 499 from Hyderabad to Vishakhapatnam. There is no separate quota for the visually impaired. However, you can large a complaint to concerned railway divisional marketting manager stating the facts. Further there is a need for fighting for concission in the train. Concission is allowed in rajadhani and shatabdi but not in this train. Happy independence day, With best regards, janardhananaid...@gmail.com On 8/14/11, Amar Jain amarjain2...@gmail.com wrote: Well there is confusion. Concession rules say that concession is admissable. Dear All, We are aware that railways provide concession in fair; and few reserved births in the handicap quota. I am aware that no concession in gareebrath’s fair is allowed. However, while enquired online using the accommodation availability through indianrail.gov.in, (seat availability), I could find that 4 births in handicap quota are reserved for us. But when I tried booking my ticket through reservation counter in those four handicap quota births, I was refused by saying that since no concession is allowed in this train, therefore no tickets in this quota can be issued. Needless to say approached the chief booking supervisor, along with other higher authorities of the station, but they take the same stand. Despite trying level best, I could not get their refusal in writing. Anyways, that is good for saying but in practice hardly anyone would take responsibilities on his shoulders. Now my question: As now a days handicap quota births are reserved (or to be specific the births of the handicap compartment are reserved), is this refusal justified? If the answer to above is in the affirmative, then why the enquiry system shows four births reserved in handicap quota? Be very clear that I am not asking for concession in fair, but I am asking reservation on the births reserved in this quota after paying the full fair. Response awaited. Amar Jain. @Vasu Bhaiya: Yes, Handicap compartment is their in Gareebrath. As far as I know, now a days Railway is booking reservations in handicap compartments too for every train. @Naidu Sir: thanks for reply. All: don't we have concessions in 2 tear and first class? Because when I was looking online using accomodation facility it said concessions are allowed in third ac and sleeper class? I know in CC it is not available. But if I am not mistaken, then in these two classes (3rd and 2nd ac) concession is available and I think its 50% instead of 75% which is their in other classes. -Original Message- From: Janardhana Naidu Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2011 11:01 PM To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Subject: Re: [AI] Gareebrath: Ticket issuing on the births reservedinhandicapquota? Hi Amar, You can use any text editor of your choice to create SVG. Internet Explorer version 9 and FireFox v4 and above can show you SVG. The Iveo viewer is an accessible SVG viewer or you can display the SVG in a browser and use the vOICe from http://www.seeingwithsound.com to view what you have drawn. As for learning SVG, there are a couple of books on bookshare that may help. There is also the SVG 1.2 specification. If you know java, you can use the library at http://cnx.org/content/m39607/latest/ To draw. This is what I am doing now since you do not have to worry about coordinate conversions etc. Pranav -Original Message- From: accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of Amar Jain Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2011 11:31 PM To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Subject: Re: [AI] Using Computers in exam: @Pranav Sir: I was not aware of SVG, however just now read an article on wikipedia about it.
