Hi all, Rajiv and I gatecrashed Chennai airport 2 days back to check on accessibility issues of the new terminals planned as part of expansion. Latest media report had pegged the opening of the domestic terminal in 6 months if the power situation doesn't worsen. We were unaware of any previous attempts to ensure accessibility in the Chennai Airport expansion so we were not very hopeful about civil work accommodations at this nth stage. We were lucky to meet Mr. S. Bhaduri who is the Executive Director (Projects) and in charge of completing this project. Briefly this is what was discussed / decided apart from the usual generic accessibility featureshttp://www.scribd.com/doc/81664585/Accessibility-Inputs-For-Chennai-Metro-Rail : - A note with specs of civil-work related accessibility features to be submitted in a week - *if anything ready-made is available could you please email the same? Would save a lot of time and energy.* - A site visit in April 1st week after place has been cleaned up. *Anyone in Chennai who wants to join in could you please link with **Dhana*anusuya.dh...@gmail.com - Flooring planned is natural granite - *Anyone who has experienced slip resistance issues with this flooring, could you please share inputs?* - Curbside assistance - *No kiosk has been planned so far - he has okayed reserved seating to be added for this purpose and wanted specs for the same including signage etc. I for one, am a little unsure of what exactly people mean by curb-side assistance. Can anyone help?* - Telecommunication devices for the deaf - *He was interested in this and wanted more information. Said had mentioned that a TTY phone is present in Mobility Bangalore. Is any airport equipped with this as yet? What has Indian experience been with this so far?* - Evacuation procedures were discussed by way of refuge areas.* Further information needed. We need to start from scratch as this is a completely neglected area of disability policy currently - there needs to be a national ongoing initiative on this.* - 1 Walkalator, 7+2 additional aerobridges planned - (Incidentally he said that ambulifts at Chennai airport = 1+2. They are owned by Chennai airport but the leasing charges agreements have not been signed by airlines who want a better deal.) - Integration with Chennai Metro - *he is checking on the accessibility of the connecting areas* *Next stops : * 1. Whoever is in charge of *airport operations* - for logistics issues 2. *Bhadra - ground handling agency* for passenger bus accessibility and other equipment. *If anyone has an idea about whether ground handling extends to HR related passenger services do let us know as we have not yet read the 2007 regulations. If the Federation of Indian Airlines loses their appeal, it would make training far more simple with less players involved.* 3. *Govt bus corporation* to ensure connectivity of accessible buses to Chennai Metro Rail Chennai airport *P.S.* Perhaps the representatives of the sector who inputted into the 12th Five Year Plan can incorporate disability / accessibility specific points of action in the MoCA annual RFDhttp://civilaviation.gov.in/cs/groups/public/documents/document/moca_001309.pdf . Namaskar! there are keyboard phones also on Android, but all with qwerty ones, no phone yet is available with alphanumeric keypad in India. some qwerty phones are Micromax A78, which is duel SIM, Motorola Fire XT311, LG Optimus Pro C660, Sony Ericson Spiria SK 17I, Samsung Galaxy Pro, HTC Chacha etc. as far as accessibility is concerned, we need to get accustomed to it. this is the only answer i have for now, because i have never used any Android phone. Hi Friends, I want to buy a microwave oven witch is accessible for the visually impaired. I heard Prashant sir's demo on the talking microwave. but I am not sure if it is available in India. Also these days many microwaves have touch buttons which we can not feel it, and so are difficult to use. Also I am not sure how expensive it would be to import a talking microwave from the U.S. or any other country. Please suggest accessible microwaves which I can buy. It may not be necessarily a talking microwave, but even if we can feel the buttons and remember the menu options and use it, then it would be fine. Please provide your valuable inputs on the same. Except Shri Prashant Verma, all the three complainants are stated to be the employees of NTPC. They have submitted that they are not being reimbursed the conveyance expenses. As per them, the scheme of expenditure for local travel for official purposes provides for reimbursement of the petrol expenses only if the employee has a vehicle registered in his/her name and he/she holds a valid driving license. As many person with disabilities neither can drive nor can get a valid driving license even though they may be owning two-wheelers/cars, they are not being reimbursed the conveyance expenses. 3. The matter was taken up with NTPC Limited vide letter dated 04.10,2011 4. The respondent vide their letter no.01:HR-Policy:7(16.1) dated 17.11.2011 submitted that the current pay structure and allowances of employees in NTPC is based on the DPE guidelines dated 26.11.2008 regarding revision of scales of pay w.e.f. 01.01. 2007 for Central Public Sector Enterprises. These DPE guidelines do not provide for special payment of transport allowance to persons with disabilities. 5. The complainants in their rejoinder submitted that the transport allowance comes under 47% perquisites is applicable to all NTPC employees. The existing scheme is applicable to all NTPC executives and workmen. They are requesting for waiving the condition of having a self valid driving license. As per them a scheme which is meant for all employees should not have eligibility conditions which exclude 450 odd employees with disabilities. This has resulted in substantial financial loss and deprivation of rights of persons with disabilities. Persons who cannot drive themselves, should be allowed to produce the valid driving license of the person who drives their vehicle. The complainants have enclosed a copy of the scheme in Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited, a public sector undertaking. 6. Upon considering the written submissions of the parties, a personal hearing was scheduled for 27.02.2012. 7. During the hearing the representative of the respondent submitted that employees with disabilities can avail the company vehicle in the event of undertaking any local travel for official purpose. He also clarified that while non-disabled employees of the company have an option to avail the reimbursement of expenditure for local conveyance for official purpose, employees with disabilities do not have any option. He further stated that under the current norms of the company, only thosg employees who own a vehicle and who have a self valid driving license are eligible to get the benefit of reimbursement of expenditure for local conveyance for official purpose. 8. The complainants highlighted the following points: (i) That many employees with disabilities including those with visual impairment, naturally cannot drive the vehicle which they may own. [AI] Query regarding payment of fees for bank of baroda clerical Recruitment
Hi Friends, In the bank of baroda advertisement, it has been mentioned that payment of fees can be made online through credit card or debit card, and the application is intigrated with the payment gateway. The fields like transaction id, branch coad, branch name, date of deposit are mandetory, so the form is not getting submited without filling those fields. However, while filling the application, i am unable to find any option of online payment. Has anyone been able to find this option? Is there any link through which we can make online payment and then fill the transaction id and other details in the application form? Please let me know. Thanks and Regards. dear, as far as scripts of google talks is concern, it is very much out dated and obsaleat therefore not advisable to use google talk because the jaws script is not updated.
