Re: [AI] Require details about swimming trainers in Bangalore
I too side the opinion I have also learnt just like that from my family around me.. just be careful and until you are not so sure do not go to the deep water side. shallow would always be playing safe. and once you are confident and expert then? go ahead. then sky is the limits for swimming. its a very enjoyable sport. I also enjoy swimming a lot and do it when ever I get a chance to do so and its a good stress reliever as well. Thanks. The order is equally crucial in its clear-cut articulation of the need to put the roster in the public domain, something on which we often find academic institutions unjustifiably reluctant. One can hope that this will go a long way in ensuring much-needed transparency in the implementation of reservation in appointments and would benifit not only the disabled, but other vulnerable social groups as well. With Regards, Viraj. IN THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI W.P.(C) 16258/2006 SAMBHAVANA . Petitioner Through: Mr. Pankaj Sinha, Adv. versus DELHI UNIVERSITY and ORS. . Respondents Through: Ms. Maninder Acharya, Adv. for Delhi University. CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY KISHAN KAUL HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJIV SHAKDHER O R D E R 14.12.2012 In response to the status report filed by respondent no. 1 University, the petitioner has filed a rejoinder stating that the information disclosed by the constituent colleges which is the basis of the report is not fully correct. Learned counsel for respondent no. 1- university states that they have put these aspects to the colleges and have elicit their response. It is, however, not in dispute that some of the colleges are repeated defaulters in complying with the directions of the Court. Learned counsel for the University states that there are five such colleges, viz., institute of Home Economics, Jesus Mary College, Lady Irwin College, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce and Sri Venkeshwara College. The University may serve a last notice on these colleges to show compliance failing which the University should forward the names of these colleges to the UGC for appropriate action to stop their grant. Learned counsel for respondent No. 1-University states that she will also examine as to how the Monitoring Committee can be made more effective and whether, at least, one of its members can for the time being give exclusive time to this committee so that the implementation is completed. List for directions on 15.03.2013. CM No. 11400/2012 (Directions) Let notice issue to respondent No. -1 University, which is accepted by learned counsel. Reply, if any, be filed within four weeks. Rejoinder be filed within two weeks thereafter. In order to ensure transparency it is directed that in the main time respondent No. -1 University and other affiliated colleges as also all respondents herein will keep their roster in public domain displayed on their website. Re: [AI] if formula text
The AutoFilter option is a handy tool for filtering data the way you want. But it can filter data in place only (listers - correct me if not so). The Advanced Filter tool can help achieve the desired result. Steps below: 1. Specify the filtering condition in the cells that are expected to not contain data in future. Let's assume BA1 and BA2 are two such cells. BA1: Month BA2: Nov 2. Select the data to be filtered. A1:Z100, for instance. 3. Press ALT+A followed by Q to open the Advanced Filter dialog box. Alternatively, press ALT+D, F, A. 4. Specify the following in the dialog box: a. Filter the list = Copy to another location radio button. (press SHIFT+TAB once after opening the dialog box to reach out to the two radio buttons) b. List Range = $A$1:$Z$100 (this should be automatically filled if you have selected the correct data) c. Criteria Range: BA1:BA2 (the place where we specified the filtering condition in step 1 above) d. Copy To = AA1 (the target location starting cell) 5. Activate the OK button to apply the filter and have the filtered data copied to the desired location. Limitations of Advanced Filters: 1. It cannot Copy data to a different sheet. This limitation doesn't affect the given scenario as the target location is on the same sheet. 2. It copies all columns in the selected data, there's no option to copy selective columns. However you can hide columns that are not required at the target location. If you want the data sorted after copying then sort the data before applying the filter. hth. -- Regards, Zujar... Re: [AI] Information required
dear Dev Kumar, I am sorry, I tried to get the 58th round of NSS report. but the web site of the ministry of statistics and programme implementation is worst one and I failed. it requires user registration. even after logging in, I could not find the report downloads properly listed. they provide just a search feature. the search engine does not work properly. so, I ended up with nothing. needless to say, the site is mostly inaccessible. I have written a mail to the concerned person on this. hopefully you may get it in the census web site. Re: [AI] requesting how to make flow chart in microsoft office
Dear Shreyas, In a word you cannot make flowcharts in Microsoft office. I had explored this briefly and may revisit it in the future. To make a flowchart, you need to drop controls into a word document. I have not found a keyboard friendly way of doing this. That does not mean that it does not exist. You may have to create macros to drop controls but I am not sure. An extremely tedious way of building a flowchart would be to use vector drawing and then insert that image into your document. Re: [AI] need rules regarding writer / exta time provided duting examination like competitve exams to vusllay impaired
enquire in your university/board/department which is conducting the exam. there is no universal guidelines. the ministry of social justice and empowerment is trying upon direction by CCPD to bring out the same. usually, the option of writer and extra time of 20 minutes for every hour is given. normally, there will be no restrictions on the age of the writer. but, some officials assume it and impose on you. many a times, they themselves become law makers and interpreters and think that their own ideas as rules and also try to blindly impose them. that is why don't relay upon any oral explanations. demand an authentic written document/circular/notification/order in the matter. after reading that circular you may clear yourself on the doubts. Re: [AI] Kerala High Court quashes new UGC marks criteria in lecturers’ test
hi Vijay Kumar and others, I think UGC cannot give certificates to petitioners only. if at all it has to obey the court order, it has to announce a new list of qualified candidates as per the new qualifying percentage prescribed by the court. otherwise it amounts to violation of equality if only the petitioners are given the certificates. this is my opinion. legal experts, please throw light on the matter. umesha - Original Message - From: VIJAY KUMAR P.V.S. vijay.palakod...@gmail.com To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Sent: Tuesday, 18 December, 2012 8:02 PM Subject: Re: [AI] Kerala High Court quashes new UGC marks criteria in lecturers’ test Unfortunately I have not filed the petition, but if the judgment is applicable to whole of India, I will be getting the certificate. On 12/18/12, S. M. syed hussain syed.ci...@gmail.com wrote: The Kerala High Court on Monday quashed the new qualifying criteria prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) after holding the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lectureships. Allowing a batch of writ petitions challenging the new criteria, Justice P.R. Ramachandran Nair held that the UGC regulations did not confer any right on the UGC to fix high marks after holding of the NET. Nor could such criteria be introduced just before the announcement of the results by executive orders. The introduction of the new criteria was not supported by the law. The new criteria had prescribed that candidates in the general category, who had scored an aggregate of 65 per cent for all three papers, would be eligible for lectureship while OBC category candidates needed 60 per cent and the marks for candidates in the SC/ST category was 55 per cent The court added that the students were jolted when all of a sudden the UGC prescribed the percentage of the aggregate marks. The adoption of such norms at the final stage and just before the declaration of the results had affected the candidates. The court said that assuming that the UGC had the power to alter the minimum marks, it should have been done in a fair and reasonable manner and not whimsically. The change of the cut-off marks at the final stage violated Article 14 of the Constitution (equality before law). The court also declared that the petitioners, who had obtained the separate minimum marks prescribed in the UGC notification, had cleared the NET. The court also ordered that they should be issued the necessary certificate in a month. source: http://www.thehindu.com/education/college-and-university/kerala-high-court-quashes-new-ugc-marks-criteria-in-lecturers-test/article4210497.ece Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe. Re: [AI] regarding not enough space in c: drive
better you re-install your windows after formatting the c drive. no need of any software. quick format is the method where the system quickly erase all data on the drive without checking for bad sectors. for your problem, only quick format is enough and no need of full format. while installing windows, the setup asks whether you want to format the drive. at that time, choose format with fat32 or NTFS (quick) which ever you like. umesha - Original Message - From: Shreyas N Reddy n.shreyas.re...@gmail.com To: accessindia accessindia@accessindia.org.in Sent: Monday, 17 December, 2012 5:26 AM Subject: [AI] regarding not enough space in c: drive hi all Thanks for the suggestion but I am sorry to tell that I am not very good in handling this situation. partitioning is not needed in this case. while partitioning, one has to take extra care to back up all the data in the hard disk. some times the adjacent partitions may also be deleted while deleting a partition. once it happened to me. dear friends, I feel happy to tell that I could recover all the data from a hard drive which got unformatted lost week. I used GetDataBack. diskgetor and Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery also work fine. all of these give the exact folder structure as it is. recuva is not good specially in case of multiple and complicated folder structure as it won't give the directory structure. its recovery performance is also poor. special thanks to sunil sangtani, Sheik mohammedali and Divyanshu Ganatra for their kind help in this task. [AI] No sight, no problemThey have a long way to go before they can pursue cricket as a vocation, but the world's blind cricketers are trying to get there
No sight, no problemThey have a long way to go before they can pursue cricket as a vocation, but the world's blind cricketers are trying to get there Nikita Bastian December 20, 2012 Hamish MacKenzie, 42, of Australia, bats © Getty Images Enlarge Related Links News : Lots of cheer as India win T20 World Cup for the Blind Teams: Australia | England | India | South Africa | West Indies I walk onto the Central College grounds in Bangalore just in time to hear India have won the toss and will be batting against Sri Lanka. The players are on the field in their team kits, knocking balls around and doing fielding drills. Apart from the lack of giant concrete stands packed with screaming fans, there is nothing to suggest that this is not just another T20 international. Until you notice some of the players are being led onto the field on the arms of their team-mates and support staff. It is the semi-final of the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup for the Blind. Pakistan have just beaten England in the first semi, and India and Sri Lanka are about to play for the other slot in the final. There are a few hundred people milling about, many of them players from the nine participating countries. Off to one side is a table with trophies, to be handed out the following day. On the PA, the announcer says it's 14 minutes to game time. I find myself a seat and browse through the rules. There are three categories of players in each team: B1, who are fully blind; B2, those who can see up to three metres; and B3, those who can see up to six. The ball, which jingles, is delivered underarm, and rolls along the pitch (there is an overarm variant in England). The B1s bat with runners, and each run they make counts for two under the rules. As the action gets underway, the first 15 minutes produce a powerful helicopter shot, a direct hit from long-on, and a leaping attempt at a catch at fine leg. It is hard to pick out the fully blind fielders at first, as most move quite naturally when the bowler runs in. After the ball is hit, though, you can see the difference: while the partially blind run after the ball, the B1 players only throw themselves, fully prone, in the direction of the ball when they hear it approach. Trying to get my head around what I am witnessing, and wondering how to bring up the players' visual handicaps without coming across as insensitive, I head in the direction of the teams. I spot a salesman trying to sell a group of players sunglasses. A couple of the visually impaired players try a pair on and then pass them to a blind team-mate, who can't get them on. You're wearing them upside down, his friend informs him, and he, along with the others, bursts out laughing. I am a little relieved; this lot, from the West Indies, don't seem to be bogged down by what can be construed as a limitation. What makes the partially sighted or blind get into cricket? I just went for the juice and snacks, Toussaint Gardner, the visually impaired West Indies captain, laughs. He says he thinks he's a better footballer than cricketer. I was in university when the English brought the [blind] game to Jamaica in 2006. I did not think cricket could be played with a rolling ball, but I tried out and here I am. Many agree the game opens up new avenues for the players. South Africa's Hendrik Christiaan, who played two 40-over World Cups before this one, says: The diseases that lead to you being visually impaired narrow your world. Playing this sport encourages us to get out of that little black hole. It is a means to earn respect in the community. One of his team-mates who was part of a street gang was shot in the head about five years ago and so lost his sight. The bullet is still lodged in there somewhere, but that was a turning point for him, Christiaan says. He decided to clean up his life and started to play cricket. The game gave him a second chance. While I was on my way to a hundred, the commentator was referring to me as 'the Jacques Kallis of the blind team' over the PA - that made me want to stay in all the more Johan Schroeder, who, during a group game against Sri Lanka, became the first B1 player in history to score a century for South Africa Sugam Pattarai, Nepal's team manager and secretary of the Cricket Association of the Blind in Nepal, says many of the players in his team have found jobs because of cricket. For us, the players develop through cricket. The game lifts them, gives them a better quality of life. Like our captain - he's a musician in a restaurant in Kathmandu. We also have a professional masseur. These players have found jobs only because of cricket. The businesses' management is often very excited to see that they play cricket for Nepal and, to help them out, offer them jobs. As might be expected, finances are an issue for most teams. Several, but not all, countries' blind cricket associations are
