Re: [AI] Are railway concession certificates invalid after introduction of E card?
Vivek, please refer to the para number 8 of the above 19th March circular, it reads as follows: 8. The validity of the card will be five years from the date of issue or till the last date up to which the concession certificate is valid, whichever is earlier. Mean, his railway consession is valid upto 31st Jan 2016. Thats why it is advisable to renew your railway consession before going to submit your document, so that you could get maximum validity of your electronic card. Re: [AI] Rohtak Hariyana: Auto operators start free travel facility for blind
Friends, I am always against of such free services. But there are large number of visually impaireds who need such service free of cost. Because they all are not on access india. I mean to say they don’t have enough money or ability to earn. Because they haven’t got proper education. So if drivers are ready to help them in the name of god then let them take help. Whenever we will go there we would pay full amount. So they would understand that all blind persons are not poor. so let them enjoy this facility. [AI] Please advise
Dear Friends, I have been pursuing my degree through distance from Bharathiyar University and informed by the study center about the procedure/criteria to apply for a scribe. As per the university, I'm allowed to take a person of 15 years stricting me to take someone more than 10th qualified. It seems to be impossible for me to get a person at this age limit in my city. Wanted to check if it is possible to write the exams with computer. Have we already been given any order? If so, will it be applicable for distant education? Whom should I approach? What is the procedure?? Please note I'm already too late to make any request for the same. So it would be my humble request to you all to enlighten me as early as possible. Thank you in anticipation -- Best, Mujeeb Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Re: [AI] open letter to CM Mamata Bandopadhyay
My best wishes in all your endeavors mam. what you've raised is an issue that deserves nation wide debates and discussions. omission of the mentally challenged women from the scheme proves the presence of prejudice among the political and bureaucratic class. lets hope to get a positive result from the CM of West Bengal. kindly update us whenever you receive any revert with regard to this issue. cheers. On 4/10/15, Sruti disAbility Rights Centre sruti.d...@gmail.com wrote: Sharing with all of you an open letter to Chief Minister Mamata Bandapadhyay written by me as girls with disabilities are discriminated in a scheme of West Bengal Government. Regards Shampa Sengupta An open letter to Chief Minister Mamata Bandapadhyay Respected Madam, I am a social activist working on the issue of disability gender rights. I would like to bring into your notice a fact that has been bothering me for some time. Kanyashree Prakalpa is a flagship scheme of your Government. This scheme which has won laurels from the UN as well, was launched with the purported aim of decreasing the number of early marriage of girls. You yourself have often been talking of this scheme at various places. To be very honest, I felt happy when I first went through the details of Kanyashree scheme because girls with disabilities are also included, while they get left out in many other schemes. The fact that this scheme exempts financial criterion of disabled girls as opposed to general girls was welcome news. However, I feel slightly disturbed because the scheme mentioned this exemption for physically handicapped girls. I had objections with the term handicap as also was bothered about why girls with mental disabilities will not be able to get this benefit. I raised these two questions when Smt Mita Bandapadhyay, Commissioner, Disabilities, called a meeting to discuss exclusively on Kanyashree scheme - as our organisation Sruti Disability Rights Centre has work experience of years on working on gender and disability issues we received an invite. I personally attended this meeting on 4th September 2013. I felt relieved as Madam Commissioner told us that they are looking into this issue and girls with all kinds of disabilities will be able to access this benefit. We (all the NGO representatives present) were asked to bring back some forms, get those filled up by parents of disabled girls and submit before October 2013. We did the same. We faced some major difficulties while these forms were filled up. As the money was supposed to come in the Bank account of the minor girls, we had to ensure that new accounts were opened within such short period of time as none of the girls had accounts. As Banks create problems during opening accounts of disabled adults too - the process was a tedious. Furnishing other documents Not married created problems in some cases as the concerned authorities were not cooperative. However we managed to submit 6 filled in forms with all papers to Disability commissioner's office before the stipulated date. Several other disability groups submitted forms before October 2013 in similar fashion. Madam, unfortunately, though nearly a year and half have passed not a single girl has received any money. I have enquired several times about the reasons of the same at Commissioner of Disabilities office. I received two different answers - firstly I was told that there had been mistakes in filling up the forms which my organisation submitted, and secondly, this work is not related to their department and they cannot answer for the same. It is difficult to accept that all the disability organisations that submitted these forms made mistakes in filling up the same. I would not have written this letter to you Madam. But Kanyashree scheme is not just praised by bodies like UNICEF but at national level also, so in case there is some mistakes in implementing the same scheme, I believe it is responsibility of your government to rectify the same. Disabled people are treated as burden by society even in these days. Women and girls with disabilities remain even more marginalised - so a question is arising, is their disability the reason for this exclusion in this case as well? I refrained from asking you this question earlier. But a few days back a mother, after getting down from the bus with much difficulty with her daughter with multiple disabilities, asked me in the bus-stop itself, Didi, media says so many girls received money, but none from our group. This money is only for normal (the term bhalo used by her) girls, na?. I have got provoked and hence this letter. So I am writing this letter to you, on behalf of a large number of disabled girls of West Bengal, who are waiting with anticipation. Hope you will consider our case Madam. Re: [AI] To give mobile banking a fillip, banks told to boost user awareness | Business Line
i am useing Icicidirect app, its ok, At 06:39 PM 4/10/2015, you wrote: Wondering how accessible is the mobile banking application of different banks with voiceover on IOS and talkback on android. Request users to share their experiences with different banks mobile banking application. Article begins Lack of awareness as well as standardisation of procedures have added to the problem of slow pick-up of mobile banking services, according to the Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI). Banks have, therefore, been advised by the Reserve Bank of India to undertake customer education and awareness programmes in multiple languages through different channels of communication ATMs,, self-service kiosks, Internet banking websites, SMS and emails to popularise the process of mobile banking reegistration/activation and its usage. As banks have started offering mobile banking services at different points in time, there are differences in procedures adopted for registering customers for mobile banking as well as in the channels of delivery and authentication process, said BCSBI. BCSBI was set up by the RBI in 2006 as an independent and autonomous body to ensure that the common person, as a consumer of financial services from the banking industry, is in no way at a disadvantageous position and actually gets what he/she has been promised. Mobile penetration in the country is now significantly high at around 93 crore. As on May 31, 2014, 86 banks had been permitted by the RBI to launch mobile banking services. Slow adoption In FY 2013-14, while there was growth in the number of mobile banking transactions, in value terms it was flat. That is, mobile banking services handled 9.5 crore transactions valued at around â¹6,000 crore in 2013-14, whereas in 2012-13, 5.3 crore transactions valued at around â¹6,000 crore were transacted. In a speech in late January, SS Mundra, Deputy Governor, RBI, observed that while there is a lot of euphoria around the adoption of mobile banking and mobile payments, the model has been relatively less successful barring a few countries where the right environmental factors existed. In the Indian context, an objective analysis would reveal various reasons for slow adoption. â There are technical issues like type of haandsets, variety of operating systems, encryption requirements, inter-operable platforms or the lack of it, absence of standardised communication structures, difficulty in downloading application, time lag in activation, etc. âThese get accentuated by the operational difficulties in on-boarding merchants and customers and customer ownership issues,â said Mundra. The Deputy Governor pointed out that the interplay of these factors has stymied the deployment and adoption of mobile banking as an effective and widely accepted delivery channel. Subject: [AI] To give mobile banking a fillip, banks told to boost user awareness | Business Line Wondering how accessible is the mobile banking application of different banks with voiceover on IOS and talkback on android. Request users to share their experiences with different banks mobile banking application. Article begins Lack of awareness as well as standardisation of procedures have added to the problem of slow pick-up of mobile banking services, according to the Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI). Banks have, therefore, been advised by the Reserve Bank of India to undertake customer education and awareness programmes in multiple languages through different channels of communication — ATMs, self-service kiosks, Internet banking websites, SMS and emails — to popularise the process of mobile banking registration/activation and its usage. That is, mobile banking services handled 9.5 crore transactions valued at around ₹6,000 crore in 2013-14, whereas in 2012-13, 5.3 crore transactions valued at around ₹6,000 crore were transacted. “…There are technical issues like type of handsets, variety of operating systems, encryption requirements, inter-operable platforms or the lack of it, absence of standardised communication structures, difficulty in downloading application, time lag in activation, etc. “These get accentuated by the operational difficulties in on-boarding merchants and customers and customer ownership issues,” said Mundra. The Deputy Governor pointed out that the interplay of these factors has stymied the deployment and adoption of mobile banking as an effective and widely accepted delivery channel. Hi, Vidya, Thanks for reminding me that filters can do this. I had completely forgot about them. Pranav, As you talk about message rules, I vaguely remember reading an article to type various syntax in the Search Mail edit field to filter and sort your results according to sender and other related options which are otherwise doable by filters. I shall do a quick Google search later in the day, and if, in the meantime, anyone finds that article, please do share it with me. I probably will use filters if unable to get anything else. Thanks. Re: [AI] open letter to CM Mamata Bandopadhyay
Good work madam. Many many thanks for such an intresting info also. Our best wishes are always with you. Regards, Neelima On 4/10/15, Sruti disAbility Rights Centre sruti.d...@gmail.com wrote: Sharing with all of you an open letter to Chief Minister Mamata Bandapadhyay written by me as girls with disabilities are discriminated in a scheme of West Bengal Government. Re: [AI] viewing e-mails from a particular e-mail address
you can create a label. and then create a filter by filling the sender's address in the from criteria. then you can view mails from the label created. it works, I have tried. there is another way but its not accurate. if you type the senders address in the edit box of search mail, you will get all mails which the person has sent you, all messages which you have sent to the person and also if you have carbon copied the senders address. this is not accurate but filters work well. Re: [AI] viewing e-mails from a particular e-mail address
Hi Bhavya, Most e-mail clients provide this feature. The terminology varies. Look at creating message rules or filters. In outlook, you can sort by sender if I am not mistaken. In your situation, you may want to consider using thunderbird.
