device that lets people who are blind or have low vision experience a solar
eclipse.

In about a month, a solar eclipse will darken much of the United States as
the moon passes in front of the sun. The last big one in North America was
in 2017, and it was Harvard astronomer Allyson Bieryla's first.

ALLYSON BIERYLA: It kind of blew my mind. Like, it was one of the coolest
things I had experienced ever.

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

It kind of blew my mind when I went to Oregon and got to see it. It was
amazing. Bieryla wanted to figure out a way for everyone to have that
experience, even if they were blind or had low vision. So she and some
coworkers invented what they're calling a light-sound device. It's a
3D-printed box, only slightly bigger than a smartphone, so it's easy to
get, and it plays the sound of a different musical instrument depending on
how much light it sees.

BIERYLA: If you're outside on a sunny day, bright light, you might hear,
like, kind of like a flute sound.

(SOUNDBITE OF FLUTE NOTE)

BIERYLA: As the moon is eclipsing the sun, it'll start to change tone.

(SOUNDBITE OF CLARINET NOTE)

BIERYLA: The midrange goes into a clarinet. And then it keeps going down in
pitch.

(SOUNDBITE OF LOWER NOTE)

BIERYLA: And then in the darkest moments of totality, you'd hear a low
clicking sound...

(SOUNDBITE OF CLICKING)

BIERYLA: ...And it gets slower and slower. During totality, you would hear
like click, click.

(SOUNDBITE OF SLOW CLICKS)

MARTIN: Bieryla wants these 3D light-sound boxes to inspire as many people
as possible.

BIERYLA: You know, this is how we get the next great generation of ideas.
Just because someone doesn't have sight doesn't mean they don't have great
ideas.

MARTIN: Bieryla's team has gotten more than 1,000 requests for light-sound
devices, and they plan to send them out free of charge.

I am trying to follow  the help offered for using standard view. But I am
still finding it very difficult. How do I return to basic HTML view? I
have tried a lot, but I get just this new version of gmail.

[AI] hypothetical query on the Overseas citizenship card

Greetings. I got the following query. As you all know, the OCI aka the
Overseas Citizenship Card has indefinite living rights. It is a
multi-purpose lifelong visa which acts as a PR green card which is a
resident visa for India for people of person of Indian origins or Indian
descent. My hypothetical query is, is this an obligation to renew the
passport associated with the Overseas Citizenship Card once it expires when
we are residing in India given it is a indefinite lifelong permanent visa
to reside in India forever? What if we keep living in India, don't have any
intent to travel internationally? Second, has anyone used passport
miscellaneous to update the passport for the Overseas Citizenship Card? It
seems the website is still inaccessible. Waiting for the prompt response
from those individuals who are having the OCI card and residing in India
and use screen reading softwares.

Hi! I also have a similar query. I am not able to travel overseas, but I want to get green card /citizenship of the United States by living in India. The purpose is that, I want to get membership of NLS, a division of library of Congress made for Persons with Blind and print disabled. Hi there. First of all, this is not a similar query. I asked about
something else, and you asked about the green card or PR visa for United
States of America. It wouldn't be possible on the basis of criteria
mentioned by you. Additionally, it isn't that easy. It is based on the
quota system and requires you to be sponsored either by an employer, and
you must reside there, or family unification. There are different pathways
available, but highly dependent on your profile.

Hi, Gmail has discontinued the basic HTML view and only standard view is
available now. Believe me, working on it seems difficult in the beginning
but gradually you'll get used to it. In addition, it has many features that
basic HTML view did not have. Let's request friends to give an initial
guidance to you about using the standard view, so you may start with
definite steps in mind.
