Re: [AI] Role of Internet Explorer
Hi, Firefox is an independent browser. Windows can work perfectly fine without firefox. The main difference between the 2 web browsers is that IE is built within the operating system and forms an integral part of windows and firefox is just another web browser independently developed with no implications on windows performance if it is not there and finally both web browsers coexist on the same PC harmoniously. Thanks, Kiran, for that simple explanation. Mind recommending some web resources that would fill me in on the tech behind IE and its role in the OS ? Re: [AI] Role of Internet Explorer
It is a little difficult to givbe you a clear explanation of this without going into a lot of technical details. But you can say that InternetExplorer is a part of Windows. It is behind the scenes when you browse the internet, browse files on your PC and so on. The core is the same. Re: [AI] Role of Internet Explorer
undoubtedly, internet explorer is a component of windows operating system. it doesn't matter, are you browsing or not, number of files and utilities of internet explorer are used by operating system, as well as some other applications in background. sometimes you have noticed while installing some setup of application, it is recommended that to install internet 5 or higher version to use this programme. - Original Message - From: "Sudhir R" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Access India" Sent: Tuesday, September 12, 2006 11:05 AM Subject: [AI] Role of Internet Explorer > Hi folks ! > > This is more of an academic question, though of course, it has practical implications for all screen reader users. > > As we have all learnt from experience, any degradation of Internet Explorer immediately seems to affect the performance of Jaws, even when one is not browsing.
