Re: [AI] Should I migrate to the new opporating system?

2007-10-03 Thread Harish Kotian
Hi Vetri
Actually, I have not used Vista, from what I have read about augumenting
your RAM with pen drives, I don't think any brand should matter. I don't
think, the pen drive should be empty. Whatever, free memory is there on the
pen drive should be usable by the OS.

That's correct and I think the public data version of JAWS 9.0 will
work even better with Vista. Thanks for Harish and Anshul for their
inputs. But Harish, I am interested to know more about the pen drive
being used as a memory ram - (The duel boot). Do all the pen drives
work? Or do we need special ones? Do they require any additional
software in order to use them this way? I am assuming that the pen
drive should be empty for it's effective functioning as memory ram.
right? Sorry for too many questions, but I am really trying to figure
out these things before making an investment that can last at least
 for a few years.

 Hi Harish,

the info about pen drive becoming useful in terms of memory is indeed
a great info! and if memory can be expanded that way, then certainly
do not mind migrating to vista. I should keep my laptop at least for
the next four years and if necessary I can in fact expand the memory.
So thanks for that great info and how about vista/JAWS combination?
Are they easy to navigate around?

Sir,
I tried this out a couple of months back when I had purchased my laptop with
Windows Vista and 1 GB RAM. I inserted an empty 1 GB pen drive and noticed
the difference. Sir, It really works without the need of any special
softwares. Ya but now I have switched over to XP due to compatibility
problems.

Hope this helps,
Abdul
