Re: [AI] Information required on availability of electronic NotePad/ Scribbler.
Hello Sir, I doubt that there is any such standalone device and that too accessable. However There is a workaround. You can buy any of those pocket printers which are bluetooth enabled and can pair with your iPhone or Android Phone. Since you need physical keyboard you have following options: 1. You can Buy an iPhone because keyboard covers are easily available. However such keyboard covers requires bluetooth connection for input purposes you need to constantly connect/disconnect or shuffle between keyboard cover and the pocket printer because on bluetooth connection one device can be used at a time. 2. Samsung launched keyboard cover for its Samsung Galaxy S6. This cover is like a flip cover with transparent flip cover with keyboard. It does not require any batteries and bluetooth connection as keys in keyboard physically clicks the corresponding key on the virtual keyboard when you press the physical key. *Reviews of this keyboard are not very favourable.* 3. Last year blackberry launched an android phone with physical keyboard. I guess its called Blackberry priv. Although I'm not sure about its accessibility. 4. There is another workaround. You can also connect any keyboard to your phone using OTG. It might be possible that OEM or manufacturar has disabled this capability of the phone. 5. If you can lay your hands on any Nokia E series phone your keyboard issue can be solved. I remember that my E 63 had an option of wireless printing. I'm not too sure what is ment by wireless printing. That is whether it is dependent upon bluetooth technology or Wifi. If it is bluetooth printing what profile is it? anyways I'm not too sure about its compatibility with modern bluetooth printers. I remember micromax's subsidiary company Yu launching pocket printer back in september 2015. You can look for that. There are many other options as well. [AI] Information required on availability of electronic NotePad/ Scribbler.
Hi friends After having read and observed the contributions of my friends Young and Old, on this Forum: I find that most of the members are very enlightened and some are real intellectuals. The younger ones are TechnoSavy having varied expertise. So I decieded to seek help. I am needing an electronic device to function as a scribbler/ NotePad, to write notes, make lists or small Memos which are printed/ produced on thermal paper: Since I have not learnt Braille and am unable to use a Braille device. Most of you must have come across hand-held devices used by sales people in the airlines or elsewhere. They handout a printout of the invoice of the item purchased by you from them. These devices are programmed to printout item description and prices. However, I need a device which can print out anything typed through the traditional or qwerty keypad. The size of the device can be like a mobile phone or a tablet. I had requested Barrier Break also to consider for TechShare: but got no. Please do let me know if any such device is available in India or Abroad and how to obtain it. [AI] (AI) Information required about indoor navigation devices
Hi all I wish to know about any devices which would enable us to navigate indoors. For outdoors we have the smart cane but using the cane may not be all that elegant while going to some sophisticated place such as somebody's office or some conference hall. So are there any devices which would help us to find our way without looking lost or banging into objects. A couple of years back there was a writeup of some shoes named Le Chal being developed. But there is no update on it of late. Any information on this topic would be highly appreciated. Re: [AI] information required about smart cane devicess,
hello friends, greetings. SMARTCANE DEVICE Smartcane device is a mobility aid for people with vision impairment and it is used in conjunction with the regular white cane which is normally used for mobility and navigation. It fits at the top fold of foldable white cane and acts as a natural extension to the white cane. It can be detached from the cane as and when it is necessary and can be re-attached using a simple latching mechanism. Whereas normal white cane can detect obstacles up to knee height, this device helps in detecting obstacles from knee to head height. Thus, it prevents injuries on the upper parts of the body. The device uses Ultrasonic sensors for detection of the obstacles and provides vibratory feedback to the users about the presence of any obstacle. The device uses different vibration patterns to convey the distance of the user from the obstacle. It works in two modes - Indoor and Outdoor. It can detect obstacles up to 3 meters when using outdoor and up to 1.8 meters when it is used in indoor environments. In other words, it warns about impending obstacles much before the possible collision happens. The objects like people, tree branches, garbage dumps, walls, poles, vehicles etc. could be detected from the mentioned distance. It also helps in finding collision-free paths by providing special map information to the user. The user can tilt it to different direction and follow the path where no vibration is coming. It can also be used to follow someone while walking while maintaining the distance from that person using a certain vibration pattern of the device. The device is designed in such a way so that to provide the aurganomic grip suiting to the different gripping styles of different people while maintaining the ease of tapping the cane. The device comes with in-built rechargeable battery which can be charged just like a cell phone. Once fully charged, the battery can go on for approximately 8 hours of continuous use. This device has been developed jointly by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Saksham Trust Delhi, and Phoenix Medical Systems Pvt. Ltd. Chennai. It has been co-created with suggestions from more than hundred users in various parts of the country. For any suggestion or queries, please contact us at: Saksham Trust, 486, Double story Building, New Rajinder nagar, New Delhi-110060. [AI] Information required on accessibility challenges to the oracle related tools
Hello Access Indian experts, It would be highly appreciable if any one of you clarify my doubts. “For sighted people, their interest enable them choose their career, but for most of the visually challenged people, JAWS is being major factor in deciding their career by sacrificing their interest.” I have started my career as medical transcriptionist and business transcriptionist. Currently I am working as a change coordinator in service management domain in IBM. In this long run, I have challenged the challenges by exploring and doing some R&D in finding work place solution. Now I would like to travel little bit on technical or development side. This year-long intension cultivated strongly in my mind to learn Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development or oracle DBA. Learning new things looks to be quite interesting, but when it comes for execution, accessibility issue hampers me to go ahead and is pushing me behind. I would like to know how JAWS or NVDA supports the oracle-related tools like SQL developer, Toad etc. JAWS supports SQL developer tool to certain extent after installing JDK and JRE. I am not sure how it supports other oracle-related tools. When we work for oracle SQL development or oracle DBA, should we connect with multiple servers remotely? If yes, how can we connect servers with the support of JAWS with multiple servers? Even though we get remote access license for JAWS, how can we install the JAWS in multiple servers? If any of you working in oracle, please clarify my doubts and guide me on this. Hoping to expect some positive solution from any one of you. Thanks & Regards S. Manikannan Mo: 07795337781. Re: [AI] Information required regarding the screen reading software for UNIX operating system
Hi Vikram, As per what I know, there are various different os available under unix, such as ubunto, suse, Boss (bhartiya operating systems solutions) etc. Thus it is very important to know which OS will your friend will be given to use. Because what I have observed, Orca does not seam to work fine with the latest edition of ubunto. The best result i found of orca working fine was on Boss OS. So please inform your friend to ask which OS of unix is he likely to use. Thanks, Bhavesh. On 7/6/13, Pranav Lal wrote: > Hi Vikram, > My answers are inline. > 1. Re: [AI] information required for neft interbanking transfer in s b i required.
hello, since few days, i am facing strange issue with state bank of india net banking. after performing any online transaction, we are getting the sms in the form of our transaction id, high security password to confirm the transaction, available balance after successful transaction etc. these messages use to come only at that time i.e. only one single sms for each such transactions. but since few days, after making such transactions, these messages do come on my mobile multiple counts i.e. keep coming for a day over the interval of few hours. this really annoys me lot and also the great concern of security as all the time mobile can't be in my hand only. i have tried contacting customer care of my network provider but they say that these sms are delivered by your bank only and we have no role in it. if you give your request to disable such sms to us, we can only disable your sms service permanently and doing so you will no longer get any sms even personal messages sent by anyone. i tried notifying this issue to my bank and to my surprise, their reply was very strange. according to their advise, let these messages keep coming, simply delete them if you feel unnecessary. so i would like to know that has anyone facing similar problem? if so, what is the solution for it. looking forward for your reply. thanks, mukesh. Re: [AI] Information required
dear Dev Kumar, I am sorry, I tried to get the 58th round of NSS report. but the web site of the ministry of statistics and programme implementation is worst one and I failed. it requires user registration. even after logging in, I could not find the report downloads properly listed. they provide just a search feature. the search engine does not work properly. so, I ended up with nothing. needless to say, the site is mostly inaccessible. I have written a mail to the concerned person on this. hopefully you may get it in the census web site. Hello Mr. Krishnan, Let me first congratulate your institution's efforts for applying ugc scheme for Higher education with special needs. Most of the universities and Colleges are not aware of the scheme and not coming forward to meet special needs of persons with disabilities. You cannot purchase all the accesiries you mentioned in your mail with your limited budget of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. First you try to get quotations and then decide which accessible devices you can purchase. Why don't you add a Plextalk or digital voice recorder? Please write me for further information to avoid the trafic in the list. Re: [AI] information required
Hello there, the information, which appeared on T.V. Channels was as under: The institute named Kalyani is situated at Navi Mumbai. it was registered but was not getting any Government grants. There were 27 mentally retarded girls. The institute required funds and it seams that these funds were raised by elicit means. Recently, the institute has purchased a big plot of land. If girls from such institute are to be taken outside, special permission is required from the social welfare department. but no such permission was taken and the girls were allowed to be taken out. No male members are allowed to enter the inner portion of such institutes. But here even this rule was violated. Now all the girls have been transferred to another institute. The promoters claim that the rapid progress made by the institute was not palatable to some vicious people therefore, it was all a conspiracy against the institute. However, it is not clear so as to who were the male members who took disadvantage of such girls. Professor Shyam M. All kurzweil functions can be accessed through its menus in the absence of the numpad options. There are short cut commands as well, such as, function key 9 for scanning, function key 5 for reading, control O to open a file, control S to save, function key 4 to close etc. There is a detailed manual as well as a compilation of keyboard commands and shortcuts which can be accessed from the Help menu. - Original Message - From: "Krishnan" To: Sent: Saturday, June 26, 2010 12:14 PM Subject: Re: [AI] information required on kurzweil keystroke. hai sir, this is the case with desktop.i want to know the keys in laptop. - Original Message - From: "Adhimoolam Vetrivel Murugan" To: Sent: Saturday, June 26, 2010 12:58 AM Subject: Re: [AI] information required on kurzweil keystroke. Well, Vamshi is right. 3% means 3% of total vacancies. However, according to DoPT circular of date 29/12/2005, it is the case only for group c and D posts, in group A and B posts, 3% means 3% of vacancies in identified posts only. This anomaly was sought to be corrected by delhi high court judgment in NFB versus UOI last year, when it ruled that 3% has to be calculated based on total cadre strength and those 3% vacancies may be filled by appointing persons on identified posts. However, such a sound judgment was stayed by supreme court of India, and now the fate of reservation of 3% of total vacancies irrespective of identified posts hangs in balance. We have proposed in new law that 3% has to be calculated based on total vacancies occurring at a time at entry points of each cadre. Even the government had proposed such a provision in amendments.
