Ur bank needs to make ATMs and branches accessible with ramps. For instance
your branch at Cortim in Panaji in Goa. This process needs to be taken up
seriously...

Great going. Keep it up. Good luck to everyone in the team.Prerna Sobti On Dec 26, 2023, at 12:19 PM, Rahul Gambhir wrote:Dear List,  Season’s greetings!  We are delighted to provide you with a recap of the inclusive activities organized by Union Bank of India in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 2023 throughout the December 2023 month.  Bank is celebrating this month as a disability awareness month. Before delving into the details of these activities, I am excited to share a success story facilitated by our recently launched Disability Support Desk on the Bank's WhatsApp Banking.   We were able to assist several customers in resolving service-level constraints through high-level intervention. By connecting with our Union Access team via this platform, customers' concerns were promptly addressed within 24 hours. This achievement reinforces bank’s commitment to enhancing accessibility and support for all our customers.  Now, let's delve into the key activities conducted by the Union bank as part of IDPD 2023:  1.    Union Gyan Kasauti: A special online quiz made available for all the 76000 staff members on disability, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion was hosted on December 2, 2023, engaging all staff members with cash prize. The primary goal was to raise awareness and imparting knowledge on the subject. 2.    Special e-Learnathon: Currently underway is an e-learnathon campaign encouraging staff members to complete three enriching e-learning courses on disability and accessibility developed by team Union Access through the Bank's E-learning portal. This initiative is designed to enhance their knowledge in areas such as General Awareness on Disability, Inclusion, disability etiquettes, and an Introductory Course on Indian Sign Language. The skills acquired contribute significantly to the enhancement of their capabilities. 3.    Virtual Training Session: On December 15, 2023, a 3-hour virtual training session was conducted for 450 visually impaired staff members focusing on using the Bank's intranet portal and related internal platforms with the JAWS screen reader. The session, led by subject matter experts who are visually impaired staff members and proficient users of assistive technology, was tailored to benefit our visually impaired staff members. 4.    Disability Sensitization through 'Dialog in the Dark':  Bank’s head office executives and staff visited a set up 'Dialog in the Dark' at Nariman Point, Mumbai. The simulation-based experience provided valuable insights into disability, diversity, and accessibility to them. 5.    Social media posting : As an established strategy by the bank to celebrate important disability days, on the occasion of IDPD 2023 an awareness post was published on the bank’s all the social media channels which has a reach of millions of followers.    As an additional note, we are excited to extend an invitation to meet you at the International Purple Fest in Goa from January 8th to January 13th, 2024, at the Union Bank of India exhibition stall on Inclusive Banking.   We look forward to engaging with you and showcasing Bank’s commitment to inclusivity on a larger platform.  For any inquiries or to learn more about our initiatives, please feel free to reach out to our Union Access team atunionacc...@unionbankofindia.bank With regards Rahul Gambhir Mobile: 989133Email: rahul.gambhi...@gmail.comSent from my iPhone

biometric signatures or thumb impressions for availing services.

Re: [AI] Union Bank of India received Disability Positive Award 2023

2023-04-22 Thread Prashant Naik
Dear List

Good morning. Sincere thanks for your appreciation and support.

Suitable changes to support enhancing digital accessibility at Union Bank
of India are undergoing but a long way to go. Current banking is so
dynamic with rapid transformation and demands from all sides of the banking
spectrum so the pace is progressive.

In one year duration, Union accessibility has impacted at diverse levels
such as awareness, outreach, community connect, NGO collaboration, new
market segment, accessible content creation, accessibility enhancements for
digital spaces, user guides for assistive technology users, policy
framework development, accessibility training, inclusion initiatives for
employees with disabilities and accessible innovations.

There are many new things planned and existing accessibility challenges
fixes are in the pipeline.

Rahul Gambhir and myself are part of the program Union Access. We are
strongly committed to accessible banking attainment.

Once again, thank you AccessIndians. Please reach at
unionacc...@unionbankofindia.bank for feedback on Union Bank accessible
banking.

Thanks & Regards

Prashant Naik

Re: [AI] Union Bank of India( problems of access

2018-06-18 Thread Dhananjay Bhole
Jourge Sir,

As you know none of the bank's website is accessibility compliant in
India. The new portal of Union bank of India is not exception. I have
gone through the home page and some connecting pages of the portal. It
has several accessibility issues to my knowledge. It is unfortunate
that almost all organizations falsely clame that their web
applications are accessible for persons with disabilities. Specially
Government organizations like MSJE.

We all have very high level of tollarance of inaccessibility. We find
alternative wayout to complete our rutine tasks with great
difficulties that's the reason we do not complain for inaccessibility
of digital environment and strongly demand accessibility compliant web
services.

But less techno savvy persons with disabilities can't do even basic
activities independently on inaccessible web portals. We can also save
our much time to findout alternative way of comparatively better
access if we are getting accessibility compliant web services.

Not only customers but also Thousands of individuals with disabilities
are employees with banks. They face lot of difficulties due to
inaccessible web services. Most of them have to remain idal due to
inaccessible intra-net services and internal applications. Their
workplace accessibility challenges can also be resolved at very high
extend due to accessibility compliant web services.

Therefore, we all must advocate accessibility compliance in all the
web services and demand accessibility compliance as it is our basic
human right.
Accessibility compliance is not charity but also a business activity
which associates with the commercial benefits to the organizations as
their customer base increases. There should be huge pressure from our
side to the organizations providing basic services like banks,
ecommerce, Healthcare, Education, travelling services etc.

Hope each one will start demanding complete accessibility compliance
of web services not only request of solutions of individual issues.

had tweeted this complaint to UBI and they have asked for a more precise
detailing of the problem . They say that they are happy to address the

A speedy response is appreciated.

Re: [AI] Union Bank of India deployed 1000+ Talking ATMs

2013-12-03 Thread Prashant Naik
Dear Friends,

Please to share that list of 1020 talking ATMs of Union Bank of India is
now available on bank’s website. Talking ATMs of Union Bank of India are
spread across 25 states and in many cities. You can download list of 1020
talking ATMs locations in pdf format from link
http://www.unionbankofindia.co.in/personal_TalkingATMs.aspx

For your easy access I have made available list in excel format as well as
same pdf file from bank’s website in my drop box. Drop box download links
are

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8123992/UNION_BANK_OF_INDIA_Talking_ATM_Locations_11thNovember2013.xlsx

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8123992/UNION_BANK_OF_INDIA_Talking_ATM_Locations_As_On_11th_November_2013.pdf

ATMs from three ATM vendors NCR, Diebold and Wincor are upgraded with
talking functionality for the blind. Good locations are present in the list.

Friends, in my previous mails on the subject, I mentioned a key point that
actual usage of talking feature at ATM can only confirm it is working fine
so requesting list members to start using talking ATMs. Please find time
and explore talking ATMs. Please remember you need to carry a standard 3.5
mm PC headphone/earphone with you. You can pre-educate yourself by going
through daisy or pdf format 3rd edition of talking ATM user manual
available on bank's website and with many NGOs. Also please help Union Bank
in improving /correcting ATM location addresses. You can give feedback on
Union Bank talking ATMs to my mail id pran...@gmail.com

Let me conclude my mail on today’s World Disability Day with two good
quotes:

"I have learned that the biggest disability any of may ever face is our own
attitudes." - by Jeffery F Walton.

“Disability is a matter of perception. If you can do just one thing well,
you're needed by someone.” – by Martina Navratilova.

Thank you and best wishes,

PRASHANT NAIK
