Avinash, yes, UGC has financing power, but it never exercises that power. in the example given by you, it has done so on the instruction by the court. is there any example of UGC spopping the funds to any central or state university for not following its guidelines? UGC is the most sluggish body in the country and we have several examples to prove that. now, in the case said by me, can we do anything? out of 100+ posts notified by Tumkur University in the year 2010, there was no post reserved for disabled. I also support the initiative. what can I do? similarly in Tumkur university, which is a state university, no post was reserved for pwd. the problem is that VI comes at the 4th position in state roster. each department had only 2 posts of assistant professor. so reservation matrix was GM 1, SC 1. can we do anything in such situations? also I have been denied the priority in placement. I Fully support this issue. I myself am a PhD holder with three post graduations and UGC NET in two subjects. I hardly found any university job reserved for VI. If at all they are reserved, either they are in subjects where you don't find VIs like disaster management or in combinations like VI-SC/women etc. which is violation of the law. I have lost hope of becoming a faculty which is my passion, and settled as a banker satisfying merely my material needs. I doubt whether fighting against each university and notification is feasible. There has to be a common fight and blanket judgment covering all universities. There is a word around that there will be common recruitment process for universities. Yes, Sambhawana is doing a good job. But I think their efforts are confined to Delhi and as you said they have succeeded and need to be supported. However, it is the need of the hour not only in central universities, but in all state universities and granted colleges and even schools across India. I am sure if persued honestly, the effort would result in thousands of jobs for PWD in teaching. -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of avinash shahi Sent: Wednesday, February 03, 2016 11:16 AM To: AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerning the disabled. They have done exceptionally well which led to more than 100 blind people employed with Delhi University. But the saga is not promising in other 43 central universities. I'm in for any such collaboration in my individual capacity to drive the Universities to the respective High Courts and the Apex Court. Re: [AI] 3 per cent reservation ignored: Allahabad University Faculty Recruitment 2016: 293 Teaching Posts
Amen sir. In fact, Sambhavana is pursuing the case in the Apex Court and the next hearing is on 17 Feb. However they are constrained By financial means and majority of faculty aspirants don't contribute a penny. It is a crucial time when we all need to contribute financially for the lawyer's cost otherwise days are not far many among us PHDs will find it difficult to get even a peon's job. Blind people need to contribute collectively if this battle has to be carried. Merely applying for jobs when advertised in quota will fetch nothing. And what to say of NGOs they hate acadimicians and hardly do advocacy for AB categories posts. Reasons are plenty. The sambhavana is an exception though. They have done exceptionally well which led to more than 100 blind people employeed with Delhi University.
As a rule, universities and colleges and schools do not reserve the mandated posts, not at least for VI. I had obtained data from entire Maharashtra through RTI and had a fought a case in Nagpur HC in person. It is a tall order and excuses given are absurd. Forget NGOs and let us form an advocacy panel, with VI who can contribute by mind body or money, and some well meaning advocates and take up the cudgels for reservation in teaching in India. Except Delhi, significant work has not been done anywhere else in this regard, me thinks. सादर / With thanks & Regards राजेश आसुदानी Rajesh Asudani सहायक महाप्रबन्धक AGM बाजार आसूचना ईकाई MIU भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक Reserve Bank of India नागपुर Nagpur 0712 2806846 President VIBEWA Co-Moderator VIB-India A-pilll = Action coupled with Positivity, Interest, Love, Logic and laughter. -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of avinash shahi Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2016 7:59 PM To: accessindia; jnuvision Subject: [AI] 3 per cent reservation ignored: Allahabad University Faculty Recruitment 2016: 293 Teaching Posts Yesterday, The Allahabad University issued an advertisement for 296 faculty posts however no post is reserved for the Candidates with Disabilities.
