Waiting to hear about your test account?

2013-03-12 Thread Kevin Winter (AdWords API Team)
Test accounts are generally marked as such within a business day or two -
you don't need to wait for the email before you can start using it.

If your token has not yet been approved, requests made against your test
account (after it has been marked) will succeed. Requests made before it
has been made a test account will fail. You can make a request with an
unapproved token to verify whether or not the account has been made a test
account.

If you have an approved token, you can use the ManagedCustomerService to
check if an account is test or not by requesting the "TestAccount" field in
v201302:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201302/ManagedCustomerService.ManagedCustomer#testAccount

Re: I have requested two accounts to be transferred in test accounts but nothing happens.

2013-03-12 Thread Kevin Winter (AdWords API Team)
Hi,
If you have an approved developer token, you can use the
ManagedCustomerService to check:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201302/ManagedCustomerService.ManagedCustomer#testAccount

If your token has not yet been approved, either your request will succeed
(against a test account) or fail (against a non-test account).

Re: ImpressionShare data for ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT broken down by hour

2013-03-12 Thread Zweitze
Interesting. Indeed that's possible in the web interface.
You could try the 'new' impression share fields, SearchImpressionShare en
ContentImpressionShare. Maybe that helps?

Note that the new fields were described in a blog
article,

but almost everybody missed it because it lacks the label 'adwords_api'. This
articlestates
that old fields like ImpressionShare will be removed. Anyway, in
case you didn't, try the new fields, and let us know whether that works.

RelativeCTR not available in Account Performance reports?

2013-03-12 Thread Zweitze
Well, the subject says it all: the adhoc report ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
lacks a column RelativeCTR.
This information is available in the web interface, can it be added to the
Account Performance report?

I think this information can be derived from a campaign report, using the
following SQL-ish expression:
SUM(RelativeCTR * Impressions) / SUM(Impressions)
Any comment on that?

Thanks in advance!

hi,

thanks for your answer,

1. the request ARE in UTF8 - you can send a test request yourself to
confirm that (the soap log is still enclosed in the original question)

2. the hack/tweak you are suggesting has already popped up in our minds
some time ago, i just was hoping that i would receive a more 'official'
answer or confirmation on that possible bug,

thanks in advance,

Receiving Zero CPC Values when not specifying clientCustomerId

2013-03-12 Thread scott . allen . johnson
I'm trying to pull some CPC values from the TrafficEstimatorService for a
collection of keywords. I noticed sending the request including or
excluding a clientCustomerId, I received significantly different results. I
can understand that the results may be tailored to the account (ccId)
specified, but the other anomaly is that results when not specifying ccId
were about 3/4 zeros.

Can anyone explain why I might be getting these zero values?

Thanks,
Scott

ImageAd mediaId, image.data (raw) and SOAP errors

2013-03-12 Thread Juhani
I have a problem to implement ImageAd support.

When getting service data and then trying to mutate it with action ADD,
throws couple of errors.

When mediaId is not set in image array, soap call fails. I override this by
adding inside image array a mediaId key with referenceId value. Actually
this should require to usage of adToCopyImageFrom, but I have no idea how
to do this (thats why I did the trick to just set random mediaId value).
Some random message from Eric (api team) was "use normal ad when getting
data" was like useless and not helpful at all, because idea is to add image
ad not simple ad object.

Well anyway when overriding this, another problem is called about image raw
data "NullError.NULL_CONTENT @ operations[0].operand.ad.image.data". I see
its binary raw data, but I have no idea how to get this data. Is it
something relative to adToCopyImageFrom-thing?

Also something what I noticed that I can fetch a lot of data about image
ads and its dimensions, but the file size is still returned as 0 (zero). So
I think it only reads the image data, but does not fetch the real image at
all. Is this another adToCopyImageFrom-thingie?

Strange Behavior of MutateJobService

2013-03-12 Thread Oliver
We have been using MutateJobService to add adgroups, keywords and Ads into
a test account. It has been working fine up until 2 days ago when we
started getting no data in the response.

We typically create 2,000 adgroups in one mutate operation. We then get the
IDs of the adgroups and use these to create the keywords and Ads.

However, for 2 days now, the result is not returning any Adgroups data,
even though the mutate job says it's COMPLETED.

Here is a code snippet:

JobResult result = mutateJobService.getResult(selector);
List adgroupIDs = new ArrayList();
for (Operand operand : result.getSimpleMutateResult().getResults()) {
AdGroup adgroup = operand.getAdGroup();
}

*operand.getAdGroup()* is now returning NULL. This used to return the
newly created Adgroup up until 2 days ago. The last job ID we ran
was -7783187229991174803

Any idea what is happening please?

Oliver

Re: ImpressionShare data for ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT broken down by hour

I acknowledged in my original message that the doc states you cannot use

why does the Adwords front-end let you use HourOfDay and ImpressionShare
fields in a report but the API doesn't?
