Re: QualityScore Field in KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT is zero

2016-06-30 Thread 'Nadine Sundquist (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Greetings Everyone,

I agree that our documentation is not up-to-date, and we'll work on getting
that updated soon. Thank you for pointing that out. There have been some
changes recently, which is why I think there's a bit of confusion. For
*Display* and *Video* campaigns, a *QualityScore* of 0 is a possibility,
but 0 shouldn't be coming up for *Search* campaigns. As you noticed in the
release
notes ,
we're moving to changing null values to '--' instead of other values, and
we've been doing that across all the reports. Thanks again for being so
helpful!

Cheers,
Nadine, AdWords API Team

Re: As a SaaS platform, do we need to link our clients' adwords IDs under our Production Manager account for API access to work?`

2016-06-30 Thread 'Vishal Vinayak (Adwords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Natarajan,

To access a third party's AdWords account data, you need two things: a
developer token and valid OAuth2 credentials. You can use a valid developer
token (with basic access) to target *any* production AdWords account, by
using the OAuth2 credentials of the targeted account (or the manager
account of the targeted account).

To proceed you should do the following:

   1. Ask the third party account owner to grant you access to their
AdWords account on a *new *email address using the instructions provided
   here . This email
address should *not* be associated with any AdWords account.
   2. Once they have granted you access, you should use that email address
to create OAuth credentials as described here

   .
   3. Now that you have the OAuth credentials of the targeted account and
your developer token (with basic access), you can use these to make
requests against the targeted client account.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Vishal, AdWords API Team

Question regarding scope of reporting change in v201605

2016-06-30 Thread adivenuti
Hello API Support team,

Hello,

I have a question regarding one of the changes outlined in the "Reporting"
section of the v2010605 API Release Notes:

https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/#reporting

Specifically, my question concerns this change:

*Inclusion of additional criteria types in the Criteria Performance report*

*The CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT now returns rows for criteria types that
are not supported in the AdWords API version of the report request (for
example, new criteria types that were introduced since the last AdWords API
release). Rows for these criteria appear in the report with CriteriaType
value unknown (or UNKNOWN if you set the new useRawEnumValues HTTP header
to true).*

Does this change impact earlier, supported versions of the AdWords API or
does it apply only to v201605? The reason I am asking is because there are
several changes that were announced with the release of the v2010605 API
that actually pertain to all currently-supported API Versions (e.g. the
addition of the SearchClickShare field to the PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT and
SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT reports) - so it seems best to ask whether or
not this is one such change.

Thank you,
-Al

Hi Dorine,

If you get a timezone as '(GMT-05:00) Eastern Time', it does not consider

Search Impression Share available on Geographic View but not available on GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT on API

2016-06-30 Thread JohnH

Hey all,

I am trying to get Search Impression Share with location level detail at
the Campaign Level. When I work with the online Adwords portal under
Dimensions Tab > View: Geographic, I am able to add Serach Impr. Share to
the report, then download manually. How would I go about achieving the
same thing, but with the v201605 Adwords API? Search Impr. Share is not
available on the GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT.

As a SaaS platform, do we need to link our clients' adwords IDs under our Production Manager account for API access to work?`

2016-06-30 Thread Natarajan C
We have an application that will pull in data about campaign performance,
CTA, CPC, etc. This will only require read-only access.

We have built the application and obtained basic access after successfully
completing the submission. However, we are facing this peculiar issue. How
do we gain access to get a 3rd party's metrics through the API and
developer token without linking them to our production manager account?

We end up losing customers because we request for their adwords ids and
manually add them to make sure the application works. Is there a way around
this?

Re: BiddingErrors.INVALID_BID occurring sporadically since 25.07.2015

2016-06-30 Thread Stefan S.
Hello,

although up to now everything worked fine, we now receive the same API
error (BiddingErrors.INVALID_BID) but only for one specific google shopping
unit.
In our eyes it should be definitely the correct product UNIT type and the
CPC in this case is set to 2,07€. Nevertheless we get the following error
message:

operations[1].operand.biddingStrategyConfiguration.bids
*CpcBid{bid=0.00, contentBid=null,
cpcBidSource=null}*
BiddingErrors.INVALID_BIDBiddingErrorsINVALID_BID

It would be very kind if you or someone else in the API team can help us
find our what is the problem in this case.
Our BatchJob ID is 315190981.

Many thanks in advance

Regards,
Stefan

Seen 23 times since then. Seen across multiple accounts.

It looks like, that *sometimes* the API does not accept a bid for
partitions (see examples below). The error is not reproducible. It's not
related to threading problems. We've got a simple single-threaded unit

that sporadically fails with this error (~1 out of 10-15 runs).
Adwords Api version is v201506. Java API version is 2.2.0.

Anywhere/possible to link the two together?

Re: QualityScore Field in KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT is zero

2016-06-30 Thread sebastian . lamelas

Thanks for the follow-up, Zweitze. In the case that raised our alarms, one
of the things you said previously is true: all the keywords with QS zero
are either removed, or its adgroup/campaign is removed. But this is just
one account. Unfortunately, the tables derived from our database are not
including other keywords with QS zero because we were filtering them out
based on what the documentations says (that lie that QS was always in range
[1-10].)

Still no answer from Google representatives.

visitors or CRM, do not show a membership life span in the AdWords UI. (It
just says "membership" which can be open or closed, but no number of days.)
I've checked with my Google rep and they said that for combination lists,
the life span depends on the life spans of the base lists that make the
combination list. Is that correct? What is the exact logic, i.e. is it just
the shortest of the base lists or does the boolean logic of the combination
list come into consideration.

Also, it seems that membershipLifeSpan is a field in LogicalUserLists (i.e.
Combination lists) and I'm able to both read the field and even set the
value via the AdWords API. Can someone let me know if that field is just
completely ignored or does it actually do something, especially given the
first part of my question? Specifically I'm concerned that we generally set
our CRM lists to 10,000 day, effectively never expiring, but we also create
combinations on top of those CRM lists and then associate campaigns to
those combination lists. Can someone confirm that those combinations lists
also will never expire, even if the membershipLifeSpan value on those lists
are something lower than 10,000? (I tried also to set the field to 10K days
explicitly and got an error, complaining the value is too high.)

Thanks!

Yang

Re: Can we upload csv files of hashed emails for Customer Match via the API?

2016-06-30 Thread 'Joyce Lava' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Yang,

As far as I know, BatchJobService
 does not
support UserListOperation
.

Please refer to this page

 to
see the supported operations. Also, you can process up to 10, 000 userlists
in a single mutate

 call
and add up to 10, 000 email addresses for each userlist.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,
Joyce, AdWords API Team

Re: QualityScore Field in KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT is zero

2016-06-30 Thread Zweitze
I looked into our database and indeed found more keywords with a zero
qualityscore.
Looking further I found that they all belonged to an campaign with
advertising channel "Display" or "Video". So, consider filtering on that.

Unfortunately field "advertisingchanneltype" is not available in
KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT (at least in v201601, which I am using).
However, that field is available in CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, so you
should do the filtering on your end.

Is this also the case for you?

Re: How to handle the timezone received via the API on reports

2016-06-30 Thread Dorine
Hi Shwetha,

Thanks a lot for your answer!

So we will use the second approach. It comes then to another question.

We receive sometimes the following timezone: '(GMT-05:00) Eastern Time'

How should we understand it?
1- Is it the real official "Eastern Standard Time" all over the year.
2- Or does it take into account the daylight saving in anyway? and if yes
how?

(We can then use this principle for the other similar received timezones:
Central Time, Pacific Time, Mountain Time, Atlantic Time.)

Thanks a lot in advance for your help on this,
Dorine

Re: Account Performance Report always returns empty reports for Display Network

Hi Tracy,

To further investigate the issue, could you please provide your customer
id? Please reply using *Reply privately to author*. Additionally, you could
add a DURING clause in the AWQL query when the Date field is included in
the select clause of the request as discussed here
.

Thanks and regards,

Account Performance Report always returns empty reports for Display Network

2016-06-30 Thread Tracy Chung
I am using the latest 201605 API.

While it is fine getting *Search Network *data (AdNetworkType2 =
SEARCH) from* Account Performance Report*; for *Display Network *
(AdNetworkType2
= CONTENT), it always returns an empty report. (or all zeros when
includeZeroImpressions is set to TRUE)

I tried both AdNetworkType1 and AdNetworkType2 fields but it was no help.
Also tried *Campaign Performance Report* with *AdvertisingChannelType =
DISPLAY*, again, I am getting empty reports (there's data when
*AdvertisingChannelType
= SEARCH*).

I have already checked via account management that data is indeed available
for Google Display Network (not zeros).

AWQL being used is as follow:

SELECT Clicks, Impressions, Ctr, AverageCpc, AverageCpm, Cost,
> ClickConversionRate, CostPerConvertedClick, InvalidClicks,
> InvalidClickRate, ConvertedClicks, Date
> FROM ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
> WHERE AdNetworkType2 = CONTENT

Thanks Joyce. That works. In terms of efficiency, would you recommend using
BatchJobService and/or creating multiple CRM User Lists and using multiple
threads if I have 100+ of these mutateMemberOperations to call?
