for the

other low

something
more plug and play.    I'm intrigued by the Blink or Nest

it looks like their only options are WIFI cameras, and I'd

I'm looking to put 2-3 cameras at tower sites, so I can go
back and look
at recordings to see if anyone has been there, or pull them up
to with
live view to see what the weather is like at the site.

To me the statement read as hyperbole.  Jokes don't need to be true,
they just need to be funny.  It helps if they're partially truewhich
it is.  It's ok buddy, take it easy.

I do not understand how people survive without money.  When I don't

I'm not in WISP anymore, but I feel very bad for you guys that are
still grinding away to make it work with the shittiest of employees.
Good for you ... some of you have become quite rich and I'm happy for
you ( I don't spend much emotional energy on 'envy' )

Personally, I can't stand working with people who can't communicate

But maybe that is some 'white privilege' that I can believe in:

I was not offended by McCown's statement but I was by yours because it

bunch of money, have great benefits, but then bullshit at the job

Sad to say, this is the norm. Out of 100 applications,

Did you ever see the movie “Hudson Hawk”? (my wife hated that film) One of
the gimmicks was they were burglars who would sing the same song instead of
synchronizing watches.

See if you can stream it. It’s stupid. You’ll love it. Your wife will
probably hate it.

Lay off the 'white republican' thing . that is a bullshit, false
equivalency statement that is easily disproven.
But I can forgive you for making that statement because I don't try to
argue with peoples' experiences...
...just their conclusions.

I do not understand how people survive without money. When I don't have
money, I go hungry. I must be doing 'life' wrong or something.
I'm not in WISP anymore, but I feel very bad for you guys that are still
grinding away to make it work with the shittiest of employees. Good for
you ... some of you have become quite rich and I'm happy for you ( I don't
spend much emotional energy on 'envy' )

Personally, I can't stand working with people who can't communicate
regardless of their racial background.
But maybe that is some 'white privilege' that I can believe in: somehow
those people are surviving life with no money (or job).
I was not offended by McCown's statement but I was by yours because it was
snide. And stupid.

Sad to say, this is the norm. Out of 100 applications, 10 will

I dont think people understand value, just an arbitrary per hour number.
Most of the "unregistered citizens" around here live 20 or more to a rental
house. They dont have iphones and xboxes and every streaming service under
the sun and claim a living wage is what's required.
They eat together, buy in bulk.
Their wages arent anywhere near as low as people assume. Their costs and
needs are so low, that at minimum wage taxes, or cash untaxed. They have
more free capital than most middle class americans.

I think that's why they're always smiling, they look at us, looking at them
from our debt saddle thinking they're dumb as we go bankrupt on 5 times
their wage.

It sucks one side of our country doesnt want them coming in legally,
specifically to keep them down as political pawns and the other side only
wants them coming in legally but wont open the fucking door.

seems to be just as buggy as it was all those years ago, and for the
features, the cameras are pretty expensive. Are there any other low
cost turnkey camera solutions out there? I could do like a Zoneminder
or BlueIris, but I'm lazy in my old age and was looking for something
more plug and play.I'm intrigued by the Blink or Nest cameras, but
it looks like their only options are WIFI cameras, and I'd really like
something POE.

I'm looking to put 2-3 cameras at tower sites, so I can go back and look
at recordings to see if anyone has been there, or pull them up to with
live view to see what the weather is like at the site.

My neighbor has some Hispanic people building a decorative fence around his
patio. They only come on weekends, so it’s probably a side gig.

The entire family comes in the crew cab pickup, and I mean the entire family.
Mom, Dad, sons, daughter. Even the boy who looks to be about 6 carries tools
and materials. OSHA would have a fit, but they have no jurisdiction over
family member employees.

But like Jaime says, learn to value work from an early age. Many are religious
and family oriented, I would think conservatives would love them, I don’t quite
understand the animosity. “Taking our jobs” I guess, but nobody else wants a
lot of the jobs. Your typical American wants to be like Mark Zuckerberg, worth
$200 billion and how hard did he work for it? Got the idea for a “face book”,
maybe wrote a few lines of code in the beginning, hardest job he’s ever done is
put on a suit and tie and sit in Congressional hearings and get yelled at.

[AFMUG] Camera Systems

2020-08-29 Thread Nate Burke
I haven't put any new cameras in for a couple years. Last one's I did
were Unifi Protect. And although it is still running, the software
seems to be just as buggy as it was all those years ago, and for the
features, the cameras are pretty expensive.

Re: [AFMUG] OT new hires

2020-08-29 Thread Robert
There is a theory backed by DNA research that after the Supervolcano
explosion in the far east the population of Homo Sapiens dropped to a
few thousand, maybe much less, so not quite the garden of eden, but
close enough for government work..  After a population of hundreds of
thousands if not a million.

My in laws moved in yesterday. Wife's folks. Gonna be here a few months until
the house is finished. They looove Fox News and evidently you have to have a
provider that supports it, pays for it, whatever. Just looking for a way for
them to stream it until they leave. I have as much use for Fox as I do MSNBC
personally but whatever. Anyway, just trying to find a way to pay someone to
get it.

Suddenlink is such a crappy cable provider (mine is fiber) I had to fire them.
Their internet works great but they can't keep their TV system up.

I believe you are on to something. America started out this way but we have
fallen too far off the path after generations of not having to sacrifice
and risk to get what we want.

Re: [AFMUG] OT new hires

2020-08-29 Thread Lewis Bergman
That's unfair. Only ignorant while republicans are against immigration. To
get political we need to make legal immigration faster, cheaper, and
easier. When a nation averages less birthes than 2 the economy is doomed
just as one really good reason. Not to mention needing Latinas to get
anything built in this country.

I have long been a proponent of a trade system. You give us 100,000 hard
working Latinas and we give you 100,000 worthless pieces of shit that
refuse to work of any ethnicity we can scrape up. Probably mostly white.
Being in Texas I can tell you there are worthless Latinos but they are much
harder to find. Not sure why. Maybe it is because in general they are proud
and for good reason. I have had really good employees of nearly every race,
but again, Latinos are the most common. This is especially true if the work
is difficult or outdoors.
