Re: [AFMUG] RPSMA or SMA for 450i AP?

2021-03-23 Thread Mike Hammett
I'd go that route, though. Not because I advocated for a few years for it with
Tasos and JT, but because you'd have the TPA, you can easily change radios in
the future.

I'm pretty sure they don't make twist port adapter for the 450i. Using a TP to
SMA adapter, with SMA to N pigtails seems like more loss and hassle... although
it might be cheaper.

Cool. Sometimes, even with the internet, it can get lonely figuring things

Re: [AFMUG] RPSMA or SMA for 450i AP?

2021-03-23 Thread Mathew Howard
I don't see any problem with doing what you were planning on.

The other option I was talking about would be to go with the RF Elements
Carrier Class horns (which are basically the same thing, they just have N
connectors instead of the twist port). But it looks like using the TP horn
with the SMA adapter (which essentially just gives you a horn withRP-SMA
ports) is $40-50 a piece cheaper, so I'd probably just go with that. The
only downside I see is that it's an extra part to deal with, but it
probably isn't really any different as far as loss goes.

If you’ve ever had bullet proof coffee and tried both salted and unsalted
butter in it you will know there is a difference. For anything else, unsalted
butter is a travesty.

I was reading about pasta the other night, i didnt realize that old italian
women will beat you for using a metal or marble rolling pin. apparently the
wood pins leave tiny indents in the pasta that the sauce will adhere to better.
I made a bunch of noodles last night with the marble one, it is smoother, dont
know that it will matter when it hits the boil though. May do some salt free
tonite just to see, but im still suspicious. its like the lie that unsalted
butter is as good as salted butter. blaspheme

So, I have been making homemade chicken noodle soup through the covid thing for
folks. The stuff in the chicken bones really does help with the aches.
A work affiliate mother got a rough cancer diagnosis and put on hospice the
other day. End stage cancer has aches, I've watched it, aches is an
understatement.
So I decided to make a double batch for both the person and the inbound family
for now.
I usually do whole fryer chickens, but most of those are brined, I saw these
young chickens with no salt brine. Older people are all on some sodium
restriction so I figured this would be versatile.
Holy cow. I knew they were a bit bigger, but I didnt realize the meat ratio on
young chickens was so much higher than a fryer.
I'm gonna end up with 4 to 6 gallons of soup from two chickens after broth,
bone broth, noodles, and vegetables.
Some dumb broad sued McDonald's successfully for dumping hot coffee on her
crotch. I feel I should be paid for no one telling me how much the soup ratio
changes here.
Also, this story is a lame way of fishing for recipes.
Mine so far is soup
Minced garlic (you cant actually measure this)
1/2 lid dry rosemary
1/2 lid dry thyme
1/2 lid dry rubbed sage
1/4 lid dry parsley
I dont know how to correlate to fresh
Salt to diet
1 chicken
Water as needed to keep bird drowned
Boil and bone after 4 hours
Simmer meat broth 1 hour

1 head celery, 1 large onion, a lot of carrots.
1/4 stick butter
Cut onion to preference and sauteed in butter til translucent. Slice carrots as
thick as makes you happy and toss in until they get just soft. Slice celery
(leaves and all) as thick as pleases you. Toss in til warm.
Dump in pot of soup with more water.
Noodle
2 cups flour
2 large eggs
1tsp salt
3 tbsp milk

Fold until even
Roll til thickness pleases
Cut as wide as tickled your fancy
Cuck in boiling soup til noodles float

Eat that shit

My daughter made a bunch of penises out of the dough for her cousin when she
had the Rona with this recipe.

My daughter's recommendation for Rona.. eat a bowl of dicks.

What's your noodle recipe?

Yeah, I shoulda googled it before asking the Question. The 450i has N
Female connectors and The RF element TPA-SMA adapter is RP-SMA. So there ya
have it. So one would need an N-Male to RP-SMA pigtail.

Re: [AFMUG] OT well worth watching

2021-03-23 Thread Steve Jones
Not defending the FBI, I think theyve turned into a political machine over
the past few decades. But they do as much as they can within the confines
of the constitution and the ACLU. the vast majority of these scams arent
even realized until after the fact. the airbnb and hotel use for mules is
slick, but not everywhere has cameras after the fact. Remember when an area
code and prefix told you where the person calling was from? it wasnt the
FBI that wanted the convenience of number portability. Thats probably one
of the biggest tools, caller ID spoofing, that gives these knuckleheads
success in the scams. We outsourced so much over the last decades that we
are more trusting of foreign accents on cold calls. blaming the fbi is like
that meme of the person putting the stick in their own bike wheel...
Im hoping chuck schumer can get a bill passed banning crime so this can all
be squared away

Re: [AFMUG] Ot: fryers vs young chickens

2021-03-23 Thread Steve Jones
I was reading about pasta the other night, i didnt realize that old italian
women will beat you for using a metal or marble rolling pin. apparently the
wood pins leave tiny indents in the pasta that the sauce will adhere to
better. I made a bunch of noodles last night with the marble one, it is
smoother, dont know that it will matter when it hits the boil though. May
do some salt free tonite just to see, but im still suspicious. its like the
lie that unsalted butter is as good as salted butter. blaspheme

Those mules are complicit, even more so than the guys on the phone in my

stop it, and they know full well its probably some old lady. Peel all their

I have several of the 317's deployed. I have not had any issues with
them. Running in ROS mode, but only doing bridge/vlans They hand off
to a CCR1009 SFP+ for all routing. The Throughput specs are just
slightly lower with the 309, but is that just because it has fewer ports
to move the traffic?

Do you like the 317? the 309 is just its little brother isnt it?

If you find that Unicorn, let me know.

I've decided next tower redux is going to have a 24F or 48F cable going
up to a Commscope OFDC closure with SC connectors.  Then hardened
jumpers to the equipment.  My reasoning is that it opens the doors to
having the switch on the ground, which means every switch on the market
is an option instead of only a few hardened switches. And there could
still be an Edgepoint up there for PoE devices.

So, I have been making homemade chicken noodle soup through the covid thing for
folks. The stuff in the chicken bones really does help with the aches.
A work affiliate mother got a rough cancer diagnosis and put on hospice the
other day. End stage cancer has aches, I've watched it, aches is an
understatement.
So I decided to make a double batch for both the person and the inbound family
for now.
I usually do whole fryer chickens, but most of those are brined, I saw these
young chickens with no salt brine. Older people are all on some sodium
restriction so I figured this would be versatile.
Holy cow. I knew they were a bit bigger, but I didnt realize the meat ratio on
young chickens was so much higher than a fryer.
I'm gonna end up with 4 to 6 gallons of soup from two chickens after broth,
bone broth, noodles, and vegetables.
Some dumb broad sued McDonald's successfully for dumping hot coffee on her
crotch. I feel I should be paid for no one telling me how much the soup ratio
changes here.
Also, this story is a lame way of fishing for recipes.
Mine so far is soup
Minced garlic (you cant actually measure this)
1/2 lid dry rosemary
1/2 lid dry thyme
1/2 lid dry rubbed sage
1/4 lid dry parsley
I dont know how to correlate to fresh
Salt to diet
1 chicken
Water as needed to keep bird drowned
Boil and bone after 4 hours
Simmer meat broth 1 hour

1 head celery, 1 large onion, a lot of carrots.
1/4 stick butter
Cut onion to preference and sauteed in butter til translucent. Slice carrots as
thick as makes you happy and toss in until they get just soft. Slice celery
(leaves and all) as thick as pleases you. Toss in til warm.
Dump in pot of soup with more water.
Noodle
2 cups flour
2 large eggs
1tsp salt
3 tbsp milk

Fold until even
Roll til thickness pleases
Cut as wide as tickled your fancy
Cuck in boiling soup til noodles float

Eat that shit

My daughter made a bunch of penises out of the dough for her cousin when she
had the Rona with this recipe.

My daughter's recommendation for Rona.. eat a bowl of dicks.

What's your noodle recipe?
